Hormel Mary Kitchen debuts frozen hash offerings

Hormel Mary Kitchen is continuing to change the way consumers get their fix of hash.

The brand is unveiling a new frozen variety of the food, it's first offering not in a can since coming off the production line 70 years ago, the company said.

New products include two frozen hash varieties — corned beef hash and turkey sausage sweet potato.  

Each new offering contains more than 9 g of protein per serving, is made with a blend of quality meats, potatoes, onions, red pepper and a touch of select seasonings, the company said.

"Our new Hormel Mary Kitchen frozen hash products are a perfect way to bring modern day brunch to the comforts of your own home," Sarah Johnson, the brand manager at Hormel Foods, said. "It's restaurant-style quality, convenient to prepare and requires no additional ingredients. However, it's also versatile and can be used in a variety of fun and delicious recipes to fill your breakfast table with a creative and bold spin on a time-honored classic."

In addition to the new launches, the Austin, Minn.-based company is also working on two additional recipes that include pork breakfast sausage, roasted red potatoes, onions, red bell peppers, bacon, superfoods, corned beef, sweet potatoes, kale, carrots, mushrooms, peppers and peas.

Shoppers can find the new Hormel Mary Kitchen frozen hash offerings at select Jewel, Hy-Vee and Safeway locations across the country for the suggested retail price of $6.49 to $6.99.
