Krispy Kreme packages its donuts for the snack aisle

For the first time ever, Krispy Kreme is bringing several of its delicious treats to the snack aisle.

The Winston-Salem, N.C.-based company is introducing newly formulated Doughnut Bites and Mini Crullers at Walmart stores and online by July.

Individually packaged for on-the-go enjoyment, the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Bites will be available in original glazed, chocolate and apple cinnamon flavors. Packaged in a box that contains five sleeves of four bites per box, it will retail for $3.97.

The Mini Crullers will feature original glazed and blueberry flavors that come in four sleeves of two per box that retail for $3.97, or in a 12-oz. size for $3.88.

In addition, seasonal flavors — strawberry doughnut bites and lemon crullers — will hit Walmart shelves for a limited time this summer, the company said.

“For over 80 years, fans all across America have asked us to bring the great taste of Krispy Kreme to their neighborhood," Dave Skena, chief marketing officer at Krispy Kreme, said. “Now, with the help of our partners at Walmart, we are able to do just that.”
