Milani Cosmetics is embracing the return of the ‘90s with a brand-new collaboration.

The beauty brand has partnered with female hip-hop artists Salt-N-Pepa on a makeup collection that celebrates their style and signature looks.

“Milani was one of the first brands to champion diversity and stand behind the mission of offering prestige quality to all,” Evelyn Wang, CMO of Milani Cosmetics said. “Throughout their career, Salt-N-Pepa have achieved many notable 'firsts' — first female rap act to gold and platinum status; first female rap act to win a Grammy Award. It's been a collaboration that celebrates breaking barriers and true confidence. It was only fitting to launch during Black History Month and upcoming Women's History Month.”

Inspired by the ‘90s, the collection features CD-shaped eye and face palettes, as well as matte lipsticks and lip liner, while also featuring bold graphics of the artists wearing their eight ball jackets, the Los Angeles-based company said.

Products featured in the collection include:

  • The Hot, Kool and Vicious Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette, which contains 12 shades of eyeshadows, nine are matte and three are shimmer. It also has a “CD” palette with a champagne highlighter, and retails for $19.99;
  • The Very Necessary Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette, which features a multi-use “CD” palette with 12 shadows. Four are soft metallics, two are matte, two are bold metallics, two are shimmery, one has a pearlized shimmer and one is a pearl matte. It also has a golden highlighter and retails for $19.99;
  • The “Push It” Lip Kit, which consists of a red lip liner and lipstick, and retails for $11.99; and
  • The “Shoop” Lip Kit, which is a ‘90s inspired nude lipstick and liner that retails for $11.99.

“Makeup has always been a form of self-expression for us. I love to experiment and play with different looks and have been a long-time Milani makeup user. My mother and sisters also use the brand so this partnership took things full circle,” said Pepa (Sandra Denton). “Milani's message of diversity and inclusivity really resonated with us,” Salt (Cheryl James) shared. “It was extremely important for us to create products that represent us and are accessible to our fan base.”

The limited-edition collection is currently available at Ulta.com and Milanicosmetics.com. Shoppers will be able to physically shop the collection when it hits Ulta Beauty shelves on March 15, as well as other retailers including Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, H-E-B and Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.
