    EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Clif Kid is extending its organic Zbar line with a new addition.

    New Zbar Crispy is an organic rice-crispy snack that is made with 8 g of whole grains and a sprinkling of toasted oats for a lightly textured crunch. Available in three flavors, including chocolate, chocolate chip and peanut butter, Zbar Crispy retails for 89 cents per bar or $4.49 per six-pack box.

  • FDA OKs infant-specific dose of Creon

    ABBOTT PARK, Ill. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new dosage of a drug made by Abbott for treating cystic fibrosis in infants, the drug maker said Tuesday.

    Abbott announced the approval of an infant-specific dose of Creon (pancrelipase) delayed-released capsules to treat exocrine pancreatic insufficiency due to cystic fibrosis.

  • Bayer Advanced Aspirin officially launches

    MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Bayer on Tuesday introduced its new Bayer Advanced Aspirin, billed as relieving pain “twice as fast” as the previous Extra Strength Bayer Aspirin.

    Using a patent-pending Pro-Release technology, the particles in the new formulation are one-tenth the size of Extra Strength Bayer Aspirin and dissolve six times faster.

  • Nickelodeon launches 'Victorious' product line at Walmart

    LAS VEGAS — Nickelodeon is launching the first products themed after one of its live-action comedy series exclusively at Walmart.

    U.S. and Canadian Walmart stores will carry the more than 250 products based on the show "Victorious," including apparel, accessories, entertainment and school supplies. Most stores will begin carrying the items in July through the back-to-school shopping season.

  • Cypress gets OK for cough-cold medications Zutripro, Rezira

    MADISON, Miss. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved two cough-cold medications made by Cypress Pharmaceutical, the company said Monday.

    Cypress announced the approval of Zutripro (hydrocodone bitartrate, chlorpheniramine maleate and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) and Rezira (hydrocodone bitartrate and pseudoephedrine). Both drugs are oral solutions and, because they contain the opioid hydrocodone, are classified as schedule III controlled substances by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Cypress subsidiary Hawthorn Pharmaceuticals will market the drugs.

    CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — DXG is helping photo enthusiasts snap and share 3-D pictures with its latest innovation.

    The company said that its new DXG-018 3-D pocket camera and viewer brings photography to a new level. The dual-lens 3-D camera snaps color pictures, which are saved onto a SanDisk card (sold separately) and then can be printed on standard 4x6 photo paper.

  • PhRMA: More than 260 medicines in development to treat skin diseases

    WASHINGTON — More than 200 drugs are under development in the United States for treating skin diseases, according to the country’s largest pharmaceutical industry trade group.

    The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America said Monday that the country’s drug makers were developing 263 medicines for skin diseases that affect more than one-third of the U.S population. A study by the Lewin Group found that the annual total cost of skin diseases was $39.3 billion in 2005.
