    MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. — Visine is looking to help consumers that experience eye irritation and redness during the summer months.

    Designed for use by those ages 6 years and older, new Visine Summer Spectrum Relief is designed to treat symptoms and protect eyes from further irritation by helping to supplement the natural tear film.

    Visine Summer Spectrum Relief exclusively is available at CVS/pharmacy in the sun care aisle for $3.99 for a 0.5-fl.-oz. bottle.

  • Nutra Nail expands portfolio

    NEW YORK — Nail treatment company Nutra Nail has announced the launch of two new products — Instant Smudge Repair and Flex-Shield nail hardener.

    Nutra Nail Instant Smudge Repair brushes away smudged, nicked, smeared or dented polish. Just brush over the manicure mishap and instantly restore polish to a smooth, shiny finish without removal or reapplication of polish, the company stated.

  • American Greetings gets digital

    CLEVELAND — American Greetings is introducing digital slideshow cards for Mother's Day.

    The cards, which are available in both preloaded and customizable versions, feature full-color LCD displays, high-quality audio and multi-image slideshows set to music.

  • Softlips debuts new look, kicks off campaign

    ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Mentholatum Co. has updated the packaging of its lip care line.

    Softlips' package update includes a new logo and graphics, although the company retained Softlips' signature slender sticks and the light flavors/formulas. In line with the package update, the company has kicked off a new marketing campaign called "Softlips. So You."

  • Hostess makes room for lemon meringue flavor on shelves

    IRVING, Texas — Consumers have helped Hostess add a new Twinkie flavor to its lineup.

    Based on its Hostess Twinkie Mania sweepstakes, the snack brand will debut lemon meringue Twinkies next year for a limited time.

    Lemon meringue edged out the raspberry tart, cookies 'n creme and blueberry pie flavors.

  • Mars Chocolate updates portfolio

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate North America has boosted its Dove and 3 Musketeers brands, the company announced.

    Mars Chocolate recently sweetened up the ice cream aisle with new DoveBar peanut butter swirl ice cream with milk chocolate. The ice cream bar, which now is available in stores, retails for $4.09 per three-pack.

  • Perrigo gets OK for generic men’s Rogaine foam

    ALLEGAN, Mich. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic version of Rogaine made by Perrigo, the drug maker said.

    Perrigo announced the FDA approval of over-the-counter minoxidil foam, a generic version of men’s Rogaine foam.

    Stiefel Research Australia, part of GlaxoSmithKline, sued Perrigo for patent infringement when the latter submitted its regulatory approval application. Under a settlement between the companies reached in February, Perrigo can launch its generic version of men’s Rogaine foam in March 2012.
