  • Actavis, Valeant announce FDA approval for Metronidazole gel

    DUBLIN and LAVAL, Quebec — Actavis and Valeant Pharmaceuticals International announced that the Food and Drug Administration approved the new drug application for Metronidazole 1.3% vaginal gel.

    The antibiotic is used for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, an infection caused by an imbalance in the normal bacteria of vagina. It's the most common vaginal infection in women ages 15 years to 44 years. Metronidazole 1.3% provides a single-dose treatment that is packaged in a pre-filled disposable applicator.

  • Kiss Products launches new Nail Art Starter Kit

    PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Nail product manufacturer Kiss Products has created a new Kiss Salon Secrets Nail Art Starter Kit for nail art fans.

    The kit offers salon-inspired nail art with at-home convenience and includes a booklet with step-by-step directions from professional nail artists, including Gina Edwards, Patricia Yankee and Masako Sasaki. The kit can be used with imPRESS Press-On Manicure or any color polish.

  • Topps expands line of MLB-themed Ring Pops

    NEW YORK — Bazooka Candy Brands, a division of the Topps Co., announced the expansion of the Major League Baseball branded Ring Pops to new teams this March. The candies will be expanding to additional teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox.

    The branded Ring Pop candies are packaged in wrappers featuring each team's logos, with flavors corresponding to the team colors, the company said.

    SALT LAKE CITY — Zarbee's Naturals on Tuesday launched Seasonal Relief with Ze339, an extract from Butterbur that helps relieve congestion, the company reported. 

  • Fitbit app to be pre-loaded on the new HTC One (M8) smartphone

    SAN FRANCISCO — Fitbit on Wednesday announced that its activity and sleep trackers now sync directly with 44 Android and iOS devices, up from 26 in early January. In addition, to bring health and fitness tracking to even more users, Fitbit also announced Wednesday that the free Fitbit app will be pre-loaded on the new HTC One (M8), allowing users to track their activity with just their smartphone.

  • Caress names singer Kelly Rowland as new 'Caress Fabulista'

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Unilever’s Caress brand named singer Kelly Rowland as one of this year's new Caress Fabulistas to help celebrate the launch of its new Caress Fresh body wash collection.

    The Caress Fabulistas also will include Adriana Castro, who is a handbag designer and founder of El Diario de la Moda.  Rowland and Castro will share seasonal style look books, plus tips and videos with fresh, on-trend beauty and style inspirations all year on the Caress Facebook page.
