    SAN ANTONIO— Mission Pharmacal Company on Thursday announced the availability of a new, patented dual-iron version of its prenatal vitamin, CitraNatal Harmony, a single-pill prescription supplement with calcium citrate. The product features Ferr-Ease, a patented blend of ferrous fumarate, a rapidly absorbing iron salt, and carbonyl iron, known for its gentle, prolonged absorption.  

  • Mars signs with licensee to bring branded apparel to retailers

    MOUNT ARLINGTON, N.J. — Mars Retail Group announced that it has signed Mad Engine as a new licensee to produce a range of apparel that will express the vividness of M&M's and Skittles brands. The apparel will be available at a variety of price points and include long- and short-sleeve T-shirts, knit tops, outerwear, fleece and hoodies.

    The new line could serve as a colorful focal point for retailers as they plan Back-to-College endcaps or holiday displays. Retailers may place orders in spring 2014 for distribution across the United States.

    WILTON, Conn. — Sun Products Corp. announced the introduction of new all free clear fabric softener and dryer sheets, which will complement the company's all free clear detergent. 

  • Line developed by plastic surgeon battles thinning hair

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Renessence LLC has announced the launch of the Renessence Hair Renewal System, a plastic surgeon-formulated line that employs stem cell technology to battle hair loss.

    A three-step shampoo/conditioner/serum treatment, Renessence is formulated with a blend of proprietary renewal peptides that promise to stimulate hair follicle stem cells for new hair growth in as little as two months, according to the company.

  • Bitsy's Brainfood whips up new cereal for kids

    NEW YORK — Bitsy's Brainfood, a snack brand for kids, launched a line of organic fruit and vegetable cereals in three flavor combinations: Fruit & Veggie 1,2,3; Carrot Raisin Crunch; and Banana Squash Squares. The new line aims to offer families a "smarter" cereal option. It's also packaged in a way that's educational and fun, the company noted.

  • Lay's Kettle Cooked announces new variety of chips

    PLANO, Texas — Lay's Kettle Cooked, a brand from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, introduced new Lay's Kettle Cooked Lattice Cut potato chips. The new snack is currently available nationwide in two varieties: aged cheddar and black pepper, and roasted garlic and sea salt.

  • Actavis, Valeant announce FDA approval for Metronidazole gel

    DUBLIN and LAVAL, Quebec — Actavis and Valeant Pharmaceuticals International announced that the Food and Drug Administration approved the new drug application for Metronidazole 1.3% vaginal gel.

    The antibiotic is used for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, an infection caused by an imbalance in the normal bacteria of vagina. It's the most common vaginal infection in women ages 15 years to 44 years. Metronidazole 1.3% provides a single-dose treatment that is packaged in a pre-filled disposable applicator.
