  • Prestige Brands solution to pediatric overdosing — unique squeezable, single-dose APAP packet

    TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Prestige Brands on Wednesday released PediaCare Single Dose Acetaminophen Fever Reducer/Pain Reliever — the only pre-measured acetaminophen in individual, squeezable packets perfect for anytime dosing, according to the company.

    To help educate caregivers about the Single Dose product and offer tips on knowing when a child should be given acetaminophen, PediaCare has partnered with father and pediatrician, Dr. David Hill, author of Dad to Dad: Parenting like a Pro, to develop an informational video on the single dose product.

  • Progresso adds new soup varieties to lineup

    MINNEAPOLIS — Progresso Soup announced on Thursday new varieties of ready-to-eat soups to the company's product lineup, including in its Progresso Light and Progresso Heart Healthy lines.

    Joining the Progresso Light line are Light Chicken Corn Chowder and Chicken and Cheese Enchilada.

  • Medbox hopes to get $40 million from medical, recreational marijuana dispensing

    WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A company that makes vending machine-like systems has a new business: medical and recreational marijuana.

    Medbox said Thursday that it had been contracted to file dispensary license applications and build-out facilities in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Oregon, Illinois and Nevada, as well as recreational licenses in Washington and Colorado. Residents of the latter two states voted to legalize recreational use of marijuana last year.

  • Emdeon gets high score in KLAS report

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Healthcare research firm KLAS has given Emdeon an 89.4-point score in its Enterprise Patient Access report for this year, the healthcare technology company said Wednesday.

    Emdeon said it scored highly among vendors offering software systems for preauthorization, verification, electronic orders management and other services when KLAS polled healthcare providers in connection with the report.
