  • Pharmavite to debut new product lines under Nature Made brand

    DENVER — The maker of Nature Made has expanded the brand to include a total of 20 offerings across three new product lines.

    Pharmavite unveiled its new product innovations at the 2012 National Association of Chain Drug Stores' Marketplace conference in Denver. The Nature Made portfolio now includes VitaMelts, full-strength minis and adult gummies, as well as Voots, a recent brand acquisition:

  • Kashi introduces organic cereals

    LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi has launched two USDA-certified organic cereals that combine organic corn flakes with a touch of natural sweetness.

    Kashi Simply Maize — made with whole organic corn that is puffed into hearty, crisp flakes with a touch of molasses — and Kashi Indigo Morning — which combines a delicious blend of crispy, golden, organic corn flakes with real blueberries and blackberries — are certified organic cereals and are free of preservatives, artificial flavors and high-fructose corn syrup.

  • Pampers goes patriotic with limited-edition diapers

    CINCINNATI — Pampers is celebrating the upcoming Fourth of July holiday and the London 2012 Olympic Games with the launch of limited-edition diapers.

    Pampers limited-edition USA diapers feature a "USA" logo print combined with red, white and blue stars and stripe designs and now are available, while supplies last, at select stores nationwide. The diapers — which were developed in celebration of Procter & Gamble's partnership with the London 2012 Olympic Games — are available in Cruisers sizes 3 through 5..

  • Upsher-Smith launches Provella for women

    MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Upsher-Smith Labs has launched a probiotic dietary supplement specifically designed for women to promote digestive, feminine and immune health, the company said.

    Provella contains a proprietary blend of six bacteria strains that include: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus reuteri and Bifidobacterium bifidum. Designed to be taken once-daily by mouth, the supplement is available without a prescription behind the pharmacy counter at retail pharmacies nationwide.

    LISLE, Ill. — The chairman of SXC Health Solutions has been honored with an award that recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

    Mark Thierer was the recipient of the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the healthcare category in the Midwest. Thierer, who was selected by an independent panel of judges, was presented the award at a special gala on June 21 at the Hilton Chicago Hotel.

  • Teva launches generic Symbyax

    JERUSALEM — Teva has launched a generic version of an Eli Lilly drug.

    The drug maker said it has launched olanzapine and fluoxetine capsules in the 6-mg/25-mg, 12-mg/25-mg, 6-mg/50-mg, and 12-mg/50-mg strengths. The drug is a generic version of Symbyax, an acute treatment of treatment-resistant depression and bipolar I depression in adults.

    Symbyax had annual sales of approximately $82 million in the United States, according to on IMS sales data.
