Zicam sponsors NYC marathon
NEW YORK Matrixx Initiatives Tuesday morning announced that Zicam Cold Remedy will be the official homeopathic cold remedy of the ING New York City Marathon.
Matrixx Initiatives will be exhibiting at the ING New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo at the Jacob Javits Convention Center Nov. 1 through 3.
Chris Carmichael, author and coach to seven-time Tour-De-France winner Lance Armstrong, will be on hand to meet with attendees and offer fitness advice.
"We are proud to sponsor the ING New York City Marathon, an event which enables us to reach so many professional and recreational athletes," stated Tim Connors, vice president of marketing, Matrixx Initiatives. "Zicam Cold Remedy is perfect for anyone with an active lifestyle—from Olympic hopefuls to moms on the go, because it is clinically proven to lessen the severity of cold symptoms and shorten the duration of the cold when taken within the first 24 to 48 hours after symptom onset."
"When training for a major athletic endurance event, the rule of thumb is one week off equates to two to three weeks of lost fitness," Carmichael said. "Zicam Cold Remedy can help prevent spoilers like the common cold from ruining a big event that you've worked hard for, such as a marathon or an important business meeting."
The ING New York City Marathon is the premier event of New York Road Runners. This year, more than 37,000 runners from all 50 states and over 100 countries will participate. Race day is Nov. 4.
