  • Supermarket Wellness Watch: Data shows breadth of retailer health commitments

    It’s one thing to say food retailers are boosting their commitments to health and wellness. It’s another to actually crunch the numbers and understand how this is playing out.

    A recently released report does just that by quantifying the growing retailer involvement in clinics, community health partnerships, consumer education, and other areas.

  • Target partners with Kaiser Permanente on 31 Southern California clinics

    PASADENA, Calif. — Target is bringing shoppers in 31 of its Southern California stores clinics staffed and operated by Kaiser Permanente. The companies announced the planned retail clinics Thursday, whose expansion builds on an existing collaboration they launched in 2014.

    Currently, there are four Kaiser Permanente-staffed Target Clinics in southern California, with four set to open in November — two in San Diego, one in Orange County and one in Riverside —with the rest set to open in existing stores over the next three years.

  • CVS Pharmacy kicks off annual Project Health screening campaign

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health is bringing its annual free health screening campaign, Project Health, to 11 markets this year, delivering more than $5 million worth of health services to patients. From Sept. 7 through Dec. 17, CVS Pharmacy locations will host Project Health walk-in events at stores in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Forth Worth, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., as well as select stores in Puerto Rico.

  • All but one Houston-area RediClinics have reopened following Harvey's exit

    HOUSTON — As of Saturday, RediClinic has reopened 21 of its 22 clinics in Houston and the surrounding area. The clinics are operating on a modified schedule from 9 a.m-6 p.m.

  • Kroger promotes flu shots and giving back through One Shot, One Meal initiative

    CINCINNATI — Kroger on Thursday announced its second annual health and wellness campaign, One Shot, One Meal, in partnership with The Little Clinic and Feeding America. From Aug. 17 through April 1, 2018, Kroger will donate one meal through the Feeding America network of food banks for every flu shot administered at all Kroger family of pharmacies and The Little Clinic locations.

  • CVS Health survey: 61% plan to get flu shot every year

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Coinciding with the availability of flu shots at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations, CVS Health on Wednesday released data from its survey of Americans about flu prevention. The survey found that 61% plan to get a flu vaccine every year or this year, an increase of 2% from last year’s survey findings. And 67% say getting a flu shot is the best way to prevent against the fly. 
     
  • CVS Health, Cigna unveil Cigna Health Works collaboration

    BLOOMFIELD, Conn. and WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health and Cigna on Thursday announced a new collaboration aimed at revamping the experience of patients on Cigna employer-sponsored health plans. Cigna Health Works will align Cigna-administered health benefits with CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic services to create a personalized health-and-wellness program for Cigna-covered patients in select markets, the companies said.

  • Bartell Drugs opens 15th CareClinic

    SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has added to its roster of CareClinic by Kaiser Permanente locations with its latest at the Redmond Town Center. The opening comes less than a month after the chain opened its 14th CareClinic amid a flurry of store openings.
