Walgreens and the Global Healthy Living Foundation, an international patient-centered, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with chronic conditions and their loved ones, have come together to introduce their latest collaboration: a free virtual health event, “Making the Most of Your Vaccines.”

This specially curated event, tailored for those living with chronic conditions, not only underscores the critical importance of vaccinations amidst the triple threat of cold/flu, COVID and RSV, but also seeks to address common vaccination misconceptions. In addition, attendees will receive simple wellness tips to better support their immunity and ease concerns about immunization.

"While this is the first fall many of us feel like our lives are back to normal, the reality is that respiratory viruses have not gone away. Getting vaccinated is the number-one thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones from illness and potential hospitalization from flu, COVID-19 and RSV. Walgreens’ pharmacists are highly trained and trusted healthcare providers who are ready to help you navigate which vaccines are right for you and your family. Partnering with GHLF reflects Walgreens' commitment to helping our community understand the importance of vaccinations, particularly for those with chronic conditions," said Samantha Picking, director of immunizations at Walgreens.

The virtual event is scheduled for Zoom on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 am EST. The speaker lineup includes:

  • Chad Woodard: founder and owner of Symbio Physio in New York City
  • Ginger Hultin: Seattle-based registered dietitian nutritionist, author and founder and owner of Ginger Hultin Nutrition
  • Alejandro Chaoul, founder and director of The Jung Center’s Mind Body Spirit Institute in Houston, Texas
  • Samantha Picking, director of immunizations, Walgreens
  • Robert Popovian, chief science policy officer, GHLF

“One of the worst parts about summer ending is that it means we turn the corner into cold and flu season here in the United States,” said Seth Ginsberg, GHLF co-founder and president. “This year, with COVID and RSV cases rising, we need all the defenses we can get. GHLF and Walgreens are proud to host these important conversations for patients. We'll delve into ways of boosting their immune system with and beyond vaccines this season. These virtual live events tailored for the chronic illness patient community are now readily accessible, relatable, and we hope, immensely beneficial for patients and their families.”
