Califia Farms’ Nitro Draft Lattes give plant-powered boost

Califia Farms is looking to keep consumers energized with plant-based beverages.

To do so, the brand is unveiling its new Nitro Draft Lattes with Oatmilk, which come in a can and join its line of non-dairy Cold Brew Coffees.

With the sound of an audible “woosh” at the opening, each can features a specialized nitro widget that releases nitrogen into the coffee and frothed oatmilk.

Like other products from Califia Farms, the Nitro Draft Lattes are made with 100% premium Arabica beans sourced via direct trade from partners in South and Central America, as well as East Africa, the company said.

"Direct trade means that we pay as much attention to the quality of the beans as to the socioeconomic impact when sourcing them. It not only results in richer, better tasting coffee, but also in strong supplier partnerships that benefit everyone," Brian Lovejoy, general manager of coffee at Califia Farms, said. "We combine these premium beans with our new Oatmilk, a delicious partner for coffee, which froths beautifully. The product is made even creamier with the nitrogen widget technology, resulting in a unique cold brew experience that keeps you 'feel good' energized all day."

Available in four flavors — Black & White, XX Espresso, Salted Caramel and Mocha — the Nitro Draft Lattes are made with allergen-friendly and gluten-free oatmilk. The lattes also are non-GMO, kosher and vegan, as well as free of nuts, allergens, soy, gluten, carrageenan, BPA, dairy and preservatives, the company said.

Consumers can find Califia Farms’ Nitro Draft Lattes in shelf-stable 7-oz. cans that retail for $2.99 on the company’s website, Amazon and at other core markets in the United States. A broader rollout to e-commerce, convenience and grocery store retailers will continue throughout the end of the year.
