  • Simple Solution adds new scent offerings to stain and odor remover product line

    DALLAS — Simple Solution has expanded its stain and odor remover lineup with two new scents.

    Simple Solution stain and odor remover products now are available in Rainforest Fresh and Spring Breeze scents, the company said. The products, which contain professional-strength pro-bacteria and enzyme formulas, are designed to eliminate tough stains and odors caused by household pets and also discourage them from leaving unwanted stains throughout the house.

  • Clif Kid to host Backyard Game of the Year event in New York

    EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Clif Kid, maker of organic snacks for active kids, on Tuesday announced the finalists for its Backyard Game of the Year.

    Given that more kids play computer games than swim or ride a bike, Clif Kid asked kids across the country to reconnect with outdoor playtime by inventing the most creative backyard game.

    On Aug. 27, the five finalists will unveil their game at Madison Square Park in New York for the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship.

  • Just Pure Water hits retail

    WESTMINSTER, Colo. — New Age Beverage has introduced a line of noncarbonated, all-natural water.

    Just Pure Water is an an unsweetened, zero-calorie purified water infused with the natural flavors of either lemon-lime, orange or berry. The beverages are packaged in 24-oz. aluminum cans.

    Just Pure Water currently is available at Sprouts stores in Colorado and Arizona.

  • Clorox turns down acquisition proposal from Icahn Enterprises

    OAKLAND, Calif. — Clorox has turned down an acquisition proposal from Icahn Enterprises valued at $76.50 per share, the company's board of directors announced Monday.

    Clorox's board, in consultation with its financial and legal advisers, concluded that the offer "substantially undervalues the company and is neither credible nor adequate," Clorox chairman and CEO Don Knauss wrote to Icahn Enterprises chairman Carl Icahn, adding that Clorox is committed to continued stockholder value creation. The company received the offer July 14.

  • Kettle introduces reduced-fat potato chips

    SALEM, Ore. — Diamond Foods has cut the fat from its Kettle potato chips brand.

    The company said that Kettle now will carry reduced-fat versions of its sea salt, sea salt & vinegar and salt & fresh ground pepper potato chip varieties. Kettle's reduced-fat sea salt chips already have hit store shelves, touting a suggested retail price of $3.49.

    The additional reduced-fat chips will make their way to retail next month. The sea salt & vinegar variety will be available in "Krinkle cut," a ridge-style chip, the company added.

  • PepsiCo Beverages Canada unveils 7UP EcoGreen bottle

    MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — PepsiCo's Canada operations has introduced its first soft drink bottle made from 100% recycled PET plastic.

    The company said that its 7UP soft drink will be available in the EcoGreen bottle in Canada. With the introduction of the 7UP EcoGreen bottle in Canada, PepsiCo Beverages Canada will reduce the amount of virgin plastic used by approximately 6 million lbs. over the course of one year.
