  • P&G, Walmart continue initiative with third family movie

    CINCINNATI Procter & Gamble and Walmart are continuing their Family Movie Night initiative with a third made-for-TV family film.

    The companies said that "A Walk in My Shoes," starring Nancy Travis, Philip Winchester and Yara Martinez, will premiere on Dec. 3 on NBC. The film builds on the success of the first two films in the Family Movie Night initiative, "Secrets of the Mountain" and "The Jensen Project."

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A trusted household cleaner reached a milestone this week.

    Bon Ami, which turned 125 years old, said it has relaunched to include an entire line of simple, effective cleaning products, adding such household staples as dish soap, all-purpose cleanser and liquid cleanser, all of which maintain its "green" claim. The packaging of Bon Ami products is 100% post-consumer recycled.

    The brand quickly is expanding and now is available in Whole Foods, Price Chopper, Price Less Foods, QFC and other store locations nationwide.

  • Eagle Pack named sponsor of 2011 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

    TEWKSBURY, Mass. — A natural pet food brand has been named the official dog food of an upcoming sled dog race.

    Eagle Pack said it would sponsor the 2011 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, which runs from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. As the official dog food sponsor, Eagle Pack will supply food along the trail, and will dedicate funds to the health and care of the Iditarod dogs.

    CLEVELAND American Greetings is bringing laughs on the go with its latest line.

    Pocket Talkers offer a whole new take on funny sound cards. The cards feature detachable talking characters that are sure to entertain, American Greetings said. Each "talker" is mounted to the front of the greeting card and is ready to serve up a series of funny audio clips at the push of a button.

  • Tim Cost joins PepsiCo

    PURCHASE, N.Y. — A former Wyeth executive has been named PepsiCo's EVP global corporate affairs.

    Tim Cost, who will report to PepsiCo chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, officially will join the company Dec. 1. In the newly created position, Cost will be responsible for strengthening and protecting PepsiCo's corporate reputation and strategically aligning its communications, public policy, foundation, investor relations, global health and agricultural policy, and regulatory agendas.

  • Report: FDA to crack down on alcohol-energy combo drinks

    NEW YORK — The Food and Drug Administration could move on manufacturers of energy drinks that combine alcohol and caffeine as soon as Nov. 17, The New York Times reported Monday, citing unnamed state law enforcement officials across several states.

     

    The New York Times report suggested the FDA may issue warning letters as a first step toward removing the products from the market.
