  • CVS Health, Cigna unveil Cigna Health Works collaboration

    BLOOMFIELD, Conn. and WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health and Cigna on Thursday announced a new collaboration aimed at revamping the experience of patients on Cigna employer-sponsored health plans. Cigna Health Works will align Cigna-administered health benefits with CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic services to create a personalized health-and-wellness program for Cigna-covered patients in select markets, the companies said.

  • CVS Health sets sights on recruiting older workers

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — In an effort to differentiate itself, CVS Health is looking to tap into the 24.8% of the workplace the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects will be aged 55 years and older by 2024. The company — which currently has a workforce that is 24% older than 50 years of age — has announced that it’s actively recruiting older employees.

  • MinuteClinic opens 5 new NYC locations

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health’s MinuteClinic has opened five new locations three of New York City’s five boroughs. Two of the new clinics are in Brooklyn, two are in Manhattan and one is located in Queens. All are located inside of CVS Pharmacy locations.

  • CVS Health Q2 sees slight decline in retail sales, exceeds CVS Caremark expectations

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health has reported its second quarter results, reporting $45.7 billion in net revenues — a 4.5% for the quarter ended June 30, driven largely by strong business in it pharmacy services segment, which includes its mail-order and specialty pharmacy services under its CVS Caremark pharmacy benefits manager. The company’s retail/long-term care segment performed in-line with its expectations. 
     
  • CVS Health removes 17 drugs as part of its 2018 formulary management strategy

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health on Wednesday outlined its plan for formulary management in 2018, which includes the removal of 17 products from its Standard Control Formulary. The move is part of the company’s rigorous approach to formulary management that it began in 2012. Since starting this effort, the company said it will bring $13.4 billion in cumulative savings to its pharmacy benefits manager clients through 2018.

  • CVS Health brings all-girls softball team to Fenway Park

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health and the Boston Red Sox on Monday teamed up to bring an all-girls softball team to Fenway park for the CVS Health Batting Camp. Members of the Suffield, Conn., Pink Pugs got to learn from Red Sox hitting coach Chili Davis and assistant hitting coach Victor Rodriguez, completed an on-field batting practice, posed for photos in front of the Green Monster, and had lunch in the Red Sox dugout.

  • CVS Health makes naloxone available without an Rx in South Dakota

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health announced Thursday that the opioid overdose-reversal medication naloxone is now available without an individual prescription at all CVS Pharmacy locations in South Dakota.  Under a collaborative practice agreement between CVS pharmacists and a local physician, CVS pharmacies, located inside Target stores in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, can dispense the medication to patients without the need for a separate visit to a prescriber.

  • CVS Health expands Cleveland Clinic partnership

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health and Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday announced the expansion of their eight-year clinical affiliation in Northeast Ohio and Florida. The expanded partnership will include various efforts to better coordinate patient care and provide services to support healthy outcomes for Cleveland Clinic patients in these regions.
