As cold and flu season quickly approaches, Mucinex is looking to give consumers an extra option when it comes to choosing products that can help tackle common symptoms of a sore throat.
New from the Parsippany, N.J.-based company is Mucinex InstaSoothe, a line of lozenges and spray designed to numb, soothe and relieve pain associated with a sore throat, the brand said.

“For years, Mucinex has been trusted by both consumers and doctors for providing some of the most efficacious products on the market to relieve cough, cold and flu symptoms, and we believe that suffering from a sore throat should be no exception,” Mark Pearson, the vice president of marketing at Reckitt said. “We recognize that sore throat pain can flip your life upside down with constant pain and irritation, which is why we’re thrilled to introduce a product that not only delivers fast, numbing, medicated relief, but also allows our consumers to take their mind off the pain and get back to focusing on the important things in their busy lives.”
Products part of the line include:
- Sore Throat + Soothing Comfort Lozenges, made with honey, it is formulated with 2.4 mg of hexylresorcinol to help soothe the throat and relieve pain for up to two hours, and comes in a honey and echinacea flavor;
- Sore Throat + Cough Relief Lozenges, made with hexylresorcinol and dextromethorphan HBr to help quiet coughs, it also provides users with comfort and relief for up to two hours, and comes in an alpine herb and fresh mint flavor; and
- Sore Throat + Pain Relief Spray, made with benzocaine and menthol, it aims to temporarily relieve pain associated with a sore throat and comes in a cherry flavor.
