  • Chips Ahoy! takes the fudge route

    EAST HANOVER, N.J. — Chips Ahoy! is getting a chocolate makeover.

    The brand has introduced its fudge-filled chocolate chip cookies called Chewy Gooey that will be available in two varieties. The Chewy Gooey Chocofudge variety features a soft chocolate chip cookie made with real chocolate chips filled with a layer of smooth and creamy fudge, while the Chewy Gooey Megafudge variety is a soft, brownie-like chocolate chip cookie with real white chocolate chips and filled with a layer of smooth and creamy fudge.

  • 7UP Retro pays homage to 1970s, 1980s

    PLANO, Texas — 7UP is sporting two nostalgic looks designed by “The Celebrity Apprentice” finalists Marlee Matlin and John Rich.

    New 7UP Retro celebrates the brand's heritage by donning two designs similar to past looks last seen in the 1970s and 1980s. An in-store marketing campaign inspired by the decades will support the limited-edition packaging.

    FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — Telecommunications provider Verizon Wireless and pharmacy benefit manager Medco Health Solutions have unveiled a mobile application that the companies said would allow patients and their doctors to instantly find the lowest-cost prescription drugs to meet their health needs and identify potentially harmful drug interactions.

  • 2 Chicks with Chocolate makes Midwest debut

    NEW YORK — A chocolatier has brought its gourmet chocolates to the Midwest.

    2 Chicks with Chocolate, which makes such chocolate products as toffee and bark bars, spicy tiles, popcorn and more, will present some of its products next week at the Chicago Sweets and Snacks Expo. The brand recently added its tempranillo ganache and meritage caramel confections to its wine collection line.

  • Schick Intuition Naturals line asks consumers to get a handle on shaving

    SHELTON, Conn. — Energizer Personal Care's Schick Intuition razor has partnered with fashion blogger Kelly Framel, creator of The Glamourai, to create three designs for the Intuition Naturals razor. Consumers will be able to vote on the designs and pick their favorite.

    For the past three years, Schick Intuition has released summer handles with designs that add a splash of fun to the consumers' shower experience. For 2012, Framel has created three fashion-forward design options.

  • Study: Xgeva reduces chances of bone metastasis among prostate cancer patients

    THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — A cancer drug made by Amgen reduced the chances of prostate cancer spreading to the bones, according to results of a late-stage clinical trial presented at the American Urological Association’s annual meeting in Washington.

    The phase-3 “Study ‘147” of Xgeva (denosumab) showed that men taking the drug survived for four months longer without the cancer spreading to their bones, compared with those taking placebo.

  • Dove celebrates launch of body wash collection with Close-Up Challenge

    ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — Unilever's Dove celebrated the launch of its new Dove VisibleCare body wash collection with a contest that gave one woman the opportunity to get a taste of what celebrities experience on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

    Kristi Herman, of Jersey City, N.J., was selected from the nearly 1,500 women who entered the Dove Close-Up Challenge and received a week of professional dance training.
