  • Sunstar Americas expands flossers portfolio for Gum brand

    CHICAGO — Sunstar Americas announced the recent introduction of its newest entries into the flosser category: Gum Eez-Thru flossers with vitamin E and fluoride, and Gum Eez-Thru mint flossers in a new value size.

  • Bounce, Downy, Tide go retro

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble is taking its packaging for three of its laundry products to the past.

    The company said that its Bounce, Downy and Tide brands will sport a retro look for a limited time, giving a nod to P&G's past advertising for the products.

    Tide, Bounce and Downy vintage packages will be available at Target from May 22 through June 10. What's more, P&G will feature $1-off coupons for Tide and Bounce and 75-cent coupons for Downy in Sunday newspapers nationwide on May 29.

  • Caribbean Passion flavor joins Jamba at-home smoothies line

    PHOENIX — Inventure Foods is expanding its licensed line of Jamba Juice at-home offerings with a fourth flavor.

    Caribbean Passion joins the roster of Jamba all-natural smoothies kits that will hit store shelves next month. Jamba's Caribbean Passion smoothie kits, which include real frozen strawberries, peaches, mangoes and passion fruit flavor, will retail for $2.99 to $3.49 per package.

    The flavor joins Razzmatazz, Mango-a-go-go and Strawberries Wild smoothie varieties.

  • OPI unveils Miss Universe Collection

    LOS ANGELES — OPI Products has inked a deal with the Miss Universe Organization to launch the Miss Universe Collection, with colors to be revealed June 14 in Las Vegas at a special event surrounding the 2011 Miss USA Pageant.

    The reigning Miss USA, Rima Fakih; Miss Universe, Ximena Navarrete; and the Miss USA contestants will help OPI unveil the Miss Universe Collection at a private reception at Color, A Salon by Michael Boychuck at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

  • Perrigo receives final approval for generic Zantac 150

    ALLEGAN, Mich. — Perrigo on Monday announced that it has received final approval from the Food and Drug Administration for its abbreviated new drug application for over-the-counter ranitidine 150 (regular and cool mint), a generic version of Zantac 150.

    Zantac 150 has annual sales of approximately $110 million, as measured by SymphonyIRI Group, Perrigo reported.

  • Generic, authorized generic of Amrix launched

    PITTSBURGH — Drug maker Mylan has launched a generic treatment for muscle spasms, the company said Friday.

    Mylan announced the launch of cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride, a once-daily muscle relaxant, in the 15-mg and 30-mg strengths. The drug is a generic version of Cephalon’s Amrix, which had sales of about $125 million during the 12-month period ended in March, according to IMS Health.

  • 2011 batch of Samuel Adams Utopias hits store shelves

    BOSTON — Samuel Adams' extreme beer is hitting store shelves just in time for Father's Day.

    The brewer said that its 2011 batch of Samuel Adams Utopias, which tout 27% alcohol by volume, is available this month. The release marks the ninth year the limited-edition beer line has been released. The 2011 batch of Samuel Adams Utopias is a blend of liquids that have been aged in a variety of wood casks for up to 18 years, the company said.

  • Splenda sweetens offerings with Splenda Essentials products

    FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. — McNeil Nutritionals has introduced new Splenda Essentials no-calorie sweetener products.

    The new line of products from the Splenda brand includes Splenda Essentials no-calorie sweetener with B vitamins and Splenda Essentials no-calorie sweetener with antioxidants. The brand previously introduced Splenda Essentials no-calorie sweetener with fiber (in packets and granulated form).
