    DALLAS — Kotex's U by Kotex line is getting stylish.

    The feminine care line has ditched the bland look of typical pads and liners by now boasting color and design, adding style to its products for the first time. Three unique designs will be available in each box.

  • Philosophy's new skin care collection aids redness, sensitivity

    PHOENIX — Philosophy has introduced its new Keep the Peace skin care collection for redness and sensitivity.

    Keep the Peace features advanced barrier rejuvenation technology, multiple antioxidants and soothing ingredients, the company stated. The products are suitable for all skin types.

    The collection includes protective color corrector SPF 20 ($38), super soothing moisturizer for redness and sensitivity ($38), super soothing serum for redness and sensitivity ($38), and super soothing instant relief mask for redness and sensitivity ($40).

  • Reese introduces Licide bed bug spray

    CLEVELAND — Reese Pharmaceutical has launched a water-based aerosol that is designed to kill bed bugs.

    The new Licide bed bug spray is designed to keep homes free of bed bugs for up to four weeks, the company said. The product is available in a 5-oz. size.

    Reese also will produce a private-label version of the Lucide bed bug spray, the company noted, and will distribute the products in retailers nationwide.

  • Salix, Lupin ink technology deal for Xifaxan

    RALEIGH, N.C. — Indian drug maker Lupin and U.S. drug maker Salix Pharmaceuticals announced Wednesday a licensing deal for technology related to a drug for traveler’s diarrhea.

    Under the deal, Salix will receive exclusive worldwide rights for Xifaxan (rifaximin) drug technology developed by Lupin and jointly by both companies in all countries except India.

    Salix is required to pay Lupin $10 million upfront, as well as potential payments related to regulatory milestones.

  • New app offers diabetics meal planning tips

    WALTHAM, Mass. — Quantia has partnered with dietitian and diabetes educator Hope Warshaw to develop EatSmart, a mobile diabetes application.

    EatSmart, currently a free download available for the iPhone, Android, smartphones, tablets and the Web, is an app that provides those affected by or at risk for Type 2 diabetes with simple meal planning tips and tricks.

    LOS ANGELES — April marks Family Moments Month, and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is celebrating with the Blu-ray and DVD release of several films for the whole family to enjoy.

    Part of Fox's yearlong Million Moments campaign, the studio releases films group thematically by month.

  • Ken's Foods updates salad dressing bottles

    MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Ken's Foods has increased the size of its salad dressing bottles.

    The company said its new 9-oz. salad dressing bottle replaces its existing 8-oz. bottle, giving the consumer 12.5% more dressing for their money, Ken's Foods said. What's more, 26 varieties of Ken's salad dressings will be "dressed up" in the updated bottles.

    "We held focus groups with our end users," said Bob Merchant, Ken's Foods COO. "They made it clear that they prefer plastic bottles over glass, and Ken's listens to consumers."

  • Coca-Cola's Give It Back racks a nod to sustainability commitment

    ATLANTA — Coca-Cola has developed 100% recyclable display racks for use in U.S. grocery and convenience stores.

    The new Give It Back racks are stand-alone units made of easily recyclable corrugated cardboard, Coca-Cola said. The soft drink giant said the merchandise displays expand its commitment to sustainability. The racks currently are being tested in select markets and are expected to become widely available in late 2011.
