  • Endo launches Fortesta

    CHADDS FORD, Pa. — Endo Pharmaceuticals has launched a recently approved testosterone gel for men.

    Endo announced Thursday the launch of Fortesta, approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treating low testosterone — or low T — in men, which affects about 14 million men in the United States; around 1.3 million of those men currently are receiving treatment, according to Endo.

  • Amneal receives FDA approval for generic Indocin

    BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic drug for pain and inflammatory diseases made by Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Amneal said Thursday.

    The FDA approved indomethacin extended-release capsules in the 75-mg strength. The drug is used to treat pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, bursitis and tendonitis.

  • Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet expands portfolio with liquid energy shot

    VIENNA, Va. — Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet lineup now includes a 2-oz., single-serve energy shot.

    The Dr. Siegal's Energy caffeine supplement is intended to provide quick energy for anyone, including those who follow a weight-loss or weight-maintenance diet, the company said.

    Dr. Siegal's Energy caffeine supplement will roll out at select retailers this month and soon will be in stores nationwide.

    MINNEAPOLIS — Apna International has launched at Target a new fragrance collection called Tattooed By Inky, which features fragrances for both men and women.

    The collection of body sprays is geared toward a young and trendy audience. The Tattooed By Inky collection features five scents — two for men, two for women and one unisex.

    The body sprays are priced at $5.99 each and include:

    • Monkey Business (male), which has a blend of leather, lavender, pepper and sandalwood;

    NEW YORK — Gaiam on Wednesday said it released the latest fitness DVD developed by Shape magazine, starring Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders.

    "400-Calorie Fat Blast" includes three 15-minute workouts, which are interval training-based workouts that blend multiple toning techniques with a strong cardio component, Gaiam said.

    PITTSBURGH — A group of drug makers have sued Mylan over its attempt to gain Food and Drug Administration approval for a generic menopause drug, Mylan said Tuesday.
