Teva, APP develop generic Gemzar
JERUSALEM — Generic drug makers Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and APP Pharmaceuticals have launched their version of a chemotherapy drug, the two companies said Wednesday.
Teva and APP launched gemcitabine hydrochloride injfection in 200-mg and 1-g single-dose vials. The drug is a version of Eli Lilly’s Gemzar, which had sales of about $785 million in the United States in 2010, according to IMS Health. The drug is used to treat cancers of the lungs, pancreas, breasts and ovaries.

'Love and Other Drugs' slated for spring Blu-ray, DVD release
LOS ANGELES — A romantic drama that gives viewers a unique look at Big Pharma comes to Blu-ray and DVD on March 1.
"Love and Other Drugs," starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, who both received Golden Globe nods for their respective portrayals of a Viagra salesman and his love interest, will be available on Blu-ray for $39.99 and DVD for $29.98.
"Love and Other Drugs" is based on the best-selling memoir by Jamie Reidy, titled "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman."
