  • Blueberry flavor added to Yoplait Fiber One line

    MINNEAPOLIS — Yoplait Fiber One is introducing a 50-calorie yogurt for health-conscious consumers looking for a guilt-free treat.

    The new blueberry flavor contains bits of real blueberry in each creamy cup and contains 5 g of fiber and 0 g of fat.

    Yoplait Fiber One yogurt is available nationwide in four-packs of 4-oz. cups at a suggested retail price of $2.79.

  • Fage Total 0% yogurt flavors to make debut

    JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. — Greek dairy company Fage plans to roll out new flavors of its nonfat yogurt.

    Fage Total 0%, a flavorful but fat-free line of Greek yogurt, is available in strawberry-goji, blueberry-acai, cherry-pomegranate and honey varieties.

  • '127 Hours' making Blu-ray, DVD debut this March

    LOS ANGELES — An Academy Award-nominated film recounting one man’s harrowing story of survival will be available on Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

    Starring James Franco and directed by Academy Award winner Danny Boyle ("Slumdog Millionaire"), "127 Hours" follows the true story of Aron Ralston, an outdoorsman who gets trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone in the Utah mountains.

    "127 Hours" will be available on Blu-ray and DVD for $39.99 and $29.98, respectively, on March 1.

  • LiceGuard's Robi Comb hits retail

    NEEDHAM, Mass. — LiceGuard on Monday announced the launch of its Robi Comb product, a noninvasive electronic lice comb powered by a single AA battery that detects and destroys lice on contact simply by combing it through dry hair.

    When the Robi Comb's metal teeth touch lice, the lice get zapped, die and then get combed away, the company stated. The Robi Comb lets you know by an audible signal whether or not head lice are present, so it can be used to detect an infestation as well as to treat one.

  • Walmart, Pacific World give sneak peek of GeoGirl

    NEW YORK — At a press event in New York on Wednesday, Pacific World and Walmart officially took the wraps off a new eco-friendly beauty line for tweens, aptly named GeoGirl.

    The line, which has a suggested retail price between $3.98 and $5.98, is launching exclusively at about 1,250 Walmart stores and on Walmart.com beginning in March. The 69-SKU collection includes makeup for face, lips, cheeks and eyes, as well as skin and body care. A GeoGirl website is slated to launch Feb. 24.

    NEW YORK — Henkel's Dial brand has launched for 2011 a collection of NutriSkin lotions with BioNutrients.

  • Watson seeks FDA approval for generic Welchol

    MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Watson Pharmaceuticals is seeking regulatory approval for a generic drug for high cholesterol.

    Watson, through subsidiary Watson Labs, said it applied for approval of a generic version of Daiichi Sankyo’s and Genzyme’s Welchol (colesevelam hydrochloride). The drug, a powdered oral suspension, is used to reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol in patients with primary hyperlipidemia, either alone or in combination with a statin.

  • Gain locks in freshness

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble is boosting its Gain brand with a formula upgrade that locks in the long-lasting scent of Gain.

    Gain with FreshLock contains microscopic scent beads that rest throughout fabrics after they have been washed and dried, the company said. FreshLock is a scent technology upgrade made to all Gain laundry detergent and fabric softener products, which provides longer-lasting freshness for laundry, P&G said.
