    FORT WORTH, Texas — PharmaSmart's kiosks will be integrated with PDX's Enterprise Pharmacy System, allowing pharmacies with the EPS system to collect data from patients through the kiosks, under a partnership between the two companies announced Friday.

  • OraQuick delivers speedy diagnosis

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. — With more than $7.2 million in sales for the 52 weeks ended Sept. 8, the landmark launch of Orasure Technologies’ OraQuick In-Home HIV test last year was a key driver behind the 11.7% growth in the home-test kit across U.S. multi-outlets, according to IRI. The OraQuick In-Home HIV Test detects antibodies to both HIV-1 and HIV-2 with an oral swab, providing a confidential in-home testing option with results in as little as 20 minutes.

  • Eisai introduces Aciphex Sprinkle capsules

    WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — Drug maker Eisai has launched a new version of a drug used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease, the company said Friday.

    Eisai announced the availability of Aciphex Sprinkle delayed-release capsules in the 5-mg and 10-mg strengths. The Food and Drug Administration approve the drug in March.

    Aciphex Sprinkle capsules, which are approved for use in children aged 1 to 11 for up to 12 weeks, are designed to be broken open and sprinkled on soft food or liquid.

  • Revlon gets velvety with Ultimate Suede

    NEW YORK — Earlier this year, Revlon extended its ColorStay franchise with the launch of Ultimate Suede Lipstick, which, according to Revlon, “continues to be exceptionally well-received in the marketplace and is capitalizing on the growing lip trend.”

    The velvety soft formula is infused with shea butter and aloe and promises to provide all-day color. It is available in 20 shades.

    CINCINNATI — Merging two classic men’s grooming brands, Procter & Gamble unveiled earlier this year Head & Shoulders with Old Spice.

    With 50 years of scalp care technology, Head & Shoulders continues to be a grooming staple for many men battling a flaky, itchy scalp. Meanwhile, Old Spice has continued to evolve to remain relevant in today’s challenging market. P&G in 1990 purchased the Old Spice fragrances, skin care and antiperspirant and deodorant products from the Shulton Co., which first introduced the brand in 1938.

  • Amneal to launch generic contraceptive

    BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Generic drug maker Amneal Pharmaceuticals will launch its version of a contraceptive product at the beginning of January, the drug maker said.

    Amneal said it would launch its version of 24 Fe (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol tablets; ferrous fumarate tablets) in the 1 mg/20 mcg and 75 mg strength. As the first company to successfully file for Food and Drug Administration approval of the drug, Amneal's product will have 180 days in which to compete exclusively against the branded version.
