    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a drug for rheumatoid arthritis ahead of the day the agency was scheduled to decide whether or not to approve it, the agency said Tuesday.

  • Prestige unveils new Total Intensity collection

    DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Prestige Cosmetics has introduced a new line, Total Intensity, that features high-intensity pigments, extended wear and color technology.

    The new line is now available online and in Ulta Beauty stores.
    Gisele Candito, SVP of Prestige Cosmetics, said the Total Intensity’s “fierce colors and uniqueness” add a new element to the Prestige brand. The new collection includes eight long-wearing eyeshadows, six liquid liners, 10 smudge-proof pencil eyeliners and mascara.

  • Medela launches Quick Clean Breastmilk Removal Soap

    MCHENRY, Ill. — Medela today announced the introduction of Quick Clean Breastmilk Removal Soap designed for cleaning breast pump and breast milk feeding accessories.

    Quick Clean Soap is designed specifically to break down the proteins and fats in breast milk and removes breast milk residue up to three days old. The detergent contains no added fragrance or taste that might discourage baby from breastfeeding and is safe and hypoallergenic, the company stated.

    SUPPLIER NEWS — According to a Nielsen report issued last month, higher consumer confidence levels, increased impulse buying and consumer intent to spend more could all lead to an upside surprise in 2012 holiday spending. Pet care will be one growth sector; Neilsen predicted pet owners will drive 5.9% dollar and 3.1% unit growth. The rest of home care, including cleaning and households products — even holiday wrapping paper — will see modest, price-driven dollar gains and unit sales declines, according to Nielsen.
