  • Sprout Foods expands portfolio, overhauls packaging

    BALTIMORE — Sprout Foods is adding new toddler puree snacks to its portfolio and also will introduce more convenient product packaging, the company announced at the Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore.

    Joining Sprout Foods' line of organic puree snacks are acai, raspberry, blueberry and blackcurrant. Additionally, Sprout Foods' BPA-free, eco-friendly packaging will now feature a new choke-free, twist-off cap and dispensing spout. The cap can be used to reseal the package, and the spout encourages independence and self-feeding, the company said.

  • Dr. Reddy's launches antibiotic products

    HYDERABAD, India — Drug maker Dr. Reddy's Labs has launched a generic antibiotic drug, the company said Thursday.

    The India-based company announced the launch of amoxicillin tablets, capsules and oral suspension. The tablets are being launched in the 500-mg and 875-mg strengths, while the capsules are in the 250-mg and 500-mg strengths, and the oral suspension is in the 125-mg-, 200-mg-, 250-mg- and 400-mg-per-5-mL strengths.

    The core of the ID gum brand focuses on the teen experience, believing it's better to explore individuality by staying open-minded rather than define themselves with a single identity, parent company Kraft Foods said. The gum is packaged in a sleek, innovative folding pack that features a magnetic closure. Once unwrapped, the pack reveals original artwork sourced from young emerging artists from around the world (there are 18 designs in total).

    NEW YORK — Procter & Gamble this week will begin shipping a wildberry-flavored Prilosec OTC.

    The proton-pump inhibitor will not come in a chewable form, however, and will feature the message "Swallow — Do Not Chew" prominently on its packaging.
