Overtone caters to brown hair with new pigmented shades

Overtone has some new additions to its brown strand-specific range.

After a demand on social media from consumers, the Denver-based brand announced that it has added four new hues to the lineup, the company said.

New additions to the For Brown Hair range now include blue, green, orange and pink, in addition to the previously launched rose gold, red and purple shades.

“Our For Brown Hair range, including our newest shades, were created to address a need in the market that wasn't being met. There was not a solution available that would be both effective and non-damaging for brown-haired consumers interested in wearing a fantasy shade,” Bella Romeo, VP of research and development at Overtone said. “Our formulas work to either counteract or complement the warm or orange undertones of brown hair to produce vibrant, rich results.”

The pigmented shades look to help users achieve a subtle tint on medium and dark brown strands, and also are hair-healthy, free of bleach and do not contain lightening or lifting agents that could damage hair, the company said.

In addition, each formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and does not contain sulfates, parabens, ammonia, harsh chemicals or heavy alcohols.

Those interested in shopping the new For Brown Hair range can do so via the Overtone website on Feb. 12, when the shades go live.
