For those wondering how to safely fade a current hair color or prep tresses for a new shade, Overtone has the solution.

The Denver-based beauty brand is launching a brand-new pH-balanced hair cleanser — The Fader Clarifying Shampoo.

Featuring a sulfate-free and plant-based formula, the cleanser looks to not only gently remove impurities from the hair, but also build-up from the scalp as well, the company said.

“We formulated The Fader to deeply cleanse while conditioning hair and scalp, so users won't experience that familiar dried out feeling often associated with traditional clarifying shampoos,” Bella Romeo, vice president of research and development at Overtone said. “The Fader contains plant-based, biodegradable ingredients derived from coconut and glucose. These ingredients are effective at fading color gently while also protecting delicate strands. We’re also excited to bring this formula to market in a recyclable sugarcane resin tube, which has ⅓ the carbon footprint of regular plastic.”

Effective on all hair types. Overtone’s The Fader Clarifying Shampoo is vegan, cruelty-free, and does not contains sulfates, parabens, ammonia or harsh chemicals.

Available in an 8-oz. tube for $22 and a 3-oz. sample size for $13, the product is available for purchase online at Overtone.co
