  • Rite Aid enters 23rd year raising funds for Children's Miracle Network

    CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid on Monday announced the launch of its annual Miracle Balloon campaign in support of local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during the company’s annual Miracle Balloon campaign. Rite Aid customers will be encouraged to support their local children’s hospital by purchasing $1 paper Miracle Balloon and in return, customers will receive $7 in coupon offers for select products sold at Rite Aid.

  • Rite Aid responds to increase in mumps cases

     CAMP HILL, Pa. — As the number of mumps cases increase across the country, Rite Aid pharmacists stand ready to administer the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine, subject to state regulations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported more than 1,000 cases of mumps in the U.S. since the start of 2017.

    MMR vaccinations are available upon request at Rite Aid pharmacies in 28 states and the District of Columbia, subject to state regulations, during pharmacy hours. No appointment is necessary.

  • Bloomberg: Walgreens could sell additional assets to Fred’s

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens Boots Alliance could be close to an agreement to sell more assets, including additional stores, distribution centers, software and personnel, to Fred’s Pharmacy in an effort to win Federal Trade Commission approval of its proposed agreement to acquire Rite Aid, according to Bloomberg, citing sources close to the talks.

  • Kmart garners top ranking on pharmacy customer satisfaction index

    ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Kmart earned the top ranking — a score of 84 out of a possible 100 — in the health and wellness/pharmacy category in the recently released American Customer Satisfaction Index “Retail Report 2016.” Kmart’s ranking rose from a score of 76 the prior year, good for a 10.5% year-over-year increase.

  • NY Post: Walgreens’ plan could require FTC to rule on Rite Aid merger within 30 days

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens Boots Alliance could soon declare it has “certified compliance” in its Rite Aid merger, forcing the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to vote on the proposed transaction in 30 days, reported The New York Post.

    “The declaration would mean that, in Walgreens’s opinion, it has given regulators substantially all the information they need to make a decision,” the newspaper wrote.
