Previously, most of the warehouse club’s online business was run separately out of the retailer’s headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.

  • Target forms cyber-security coalition in wake of customer data hacking

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target is investing $5 million in a coalition of cyber-security organizations to launch a marketing campaign to educate the public about phishing scams and security, the mass merchandise retailer said.

    The coalition includes the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, the National Cyber Security Alliance and Better Business Bureaus.

  • Rite Aid donates 15,000 cases of water following W.Va., chemical spill

    CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid's philanthropic arm will donate water for areas of West Virginia affected by a recent chemical spill, the retail pharmacy chain said Saturday.

    The Rite Aid Foundation announced the donation of 15,000 cases of water to the American Red Cross West Virginia Region to assist communities around Charleston, W.Va., currently under a water ban resulting from a chemical spill that contaminated the area's water supply, affecting about 300,000 people in a nine-county area.

    MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu on Monday elected retail executive Jerry Storch as the company’s new chair of its board of directors. The appointment comes after Robert Miller, who served as chairman Supervalu since March 2013, announced he would resign his chairman position to focus on other demands.
