YouCam Makeup, Make Up For Ever debut AI-powered foundation shade match

Finding the right foundation shade is now as easy as using a computer or smartphone.

Perfect, the parent company of YouCam Makeup, is partnering with Make Up For Ever on an AI powered smart shade finder.

Accessible via the brand’s website, the tool allows users to accurately and easily find the right foundation shade for them, as well as offer personalized product recommendations and a true to life try-on experience, the company said.

“We are very excited to team up with Make Up For Ever to launch the online virtual AI Shade Finder, which will deliver a more personalized beauty experience to consumers” Perfect's founder and CEO Alice Chang said. “Beauty industry is becoming more and more digitally driven. This inspiring partnership will reimagine the beauty shoppers’ journey and allow them to interact and engage with Make Up For Ever in a completely new and unique way.”

By leveraging its AI-smart detection, which is based on more than 200,000 learning samples across all skin groups, the tool gives users the opportunity to find their best shade match in seconds, the company said.
