Functional beverage brand Blume has expanded its retail distribution with two products—Matcha Coconut and Reishi Hot Chocolate—that are now available at 270 Whole Foods Market locations nationwide.

With this new retail partnership, Blume’s products are now shoppable at more than 4,000 stores across America, including Target, Erewhon and Anthropologie.

To learn more about the partnership and why Whole Foods was the right partner for the brand, DSN spoke to Karen Danudjaja, co-founder of the brand.

We know that Whole Foods Market and their shoppers really resonate with the Blume mission and products. We love Whole Foods also focuses on organic, whole ingredients and is a trusted name with over 500 stores,” said Danudjaja. “It feels good knowing that this partnership will provide us that expansion to ultimately create more accessibility to delicious superfood latte options to more people all over the U.S.”

When it came to choosing what SKUs to carry at the retailer, the answer was simple—find familiar flavors that call shoppers to check out the superfood and functional energy drink aisle shelves. “Hot chocolates and matchas are familiar and delicious while still delivering on functional ingredients," Danudjaja said. "We feel these two flavors are an amazing introduction to our brand ethos.”

Founded with an ethos that calls on consumers to create indulgent rituals they can feel good about, the brand’s superfood latte blends are refined sugar-free, certified organic, plant-based and packaged in plastic neutral plus pouches.

Although current plans for the brand include focusing on its growth, visibility and familiarity with shoppers across the United States, shoppers should not discount a new launch or two possibly hitting shelves later this year or even next.

“We are always in the kitchen working on new exciting flavors and innovations that our community is asking for," said Danudjaja. "So stay tuned on social media and email for all the sweet news to come.”
