  • Mars Chocolate offers sneak peek for Valentine's Day 2014

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate North America offered Drug Store News a sneak peek at the company's anticipated lineup for Valentine's Day 2014. The company plans a robust line of products with plenty of new items for retail shelves.

    Among the new items that will be available at retailers nationwide are:

  • Bic re-invents highlighter with new Brite Liner Highlighter Tape

    SHELTON, CT. — Bic Consumer Products, a distributor of stationary products, lighters and shavers, announced today a new highlighter tape, the first to hit the market, according to the company.

    Bic Brite Liner Highlighter Tape is a bright fluorescent tape that can be used to highlight documents without bleeding through paper. It also erases easily, making it convenient to use on textbooks, magazines, newspapers and other important documents.

  • Warrell Corp. introduces new caramel line

    CAMP HILL, Pa. — Snack manufacturer Warrell Corp. is introducing a new line of caramel candies, the company said Thursday.

    Warrell announced the launch of the Classic Caramel brand, sold as bagged, individually wrapped caramel squares. The line includes vanilla, chocolate and apple-cinnamon flavors and an assorted bag containing all three flavors.

  • Hellmann's offers new tangy whipped dressing

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Hellmann's announced today expansion of its product line with what the company calls the brand's first Real Whipped Tangy Dressing.

    Hellmann's Real Whipped Tangy Dressing has fewer calories and a tangy taste profile versus mayonnaise, the company stated. Real Whipped Tangy Dressing is made with oil, vinegar, cage-free eggs and select seasonings.

    Hellmann's Real Whipped Tangy Dressing is available at major retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger and Hy-Vee, in the Midwest and Central region of the country.

  • Obama budget proposes increasing tobacco taxes

    WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has proposed increasing federal taxes on cigarettes, drawing criticism from tobacco companies and praise from anti-smoking groups.

    As part of his proposed budget, Obama proposed raising the tax on cigarettes by 94 cents per pack, with similar increases on other tobacco products. The current tax is $1.01 per pack.
