  • Marley's Mellow Mood goes 'lite'

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Marley's Mellow Mood is introducing a new low-calorie option to consumers in July.

    Marley's Mellow Mood Lite: Half Lemonade, Half Tea is sourced from such ingredients as chamomile, valerian root, lemon balm, hops, passionflower and melatonin. Each 8-oz. serving of the beverage is 40 calories, according to the company.

  • Mars Chocolate to break ground on Topeka, Kan., manufacturing facility

    TOPEKA, Kan. — Mars Chocolate North America this week unveiled plans to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Midwest, part of the company's commitment to invest in U.S. manufacturing.

    The facility, which will be located in Topeka, Kan., is the first site the company has built in 35 years and will help Mars Chocolate meet the growing demand for its candy products.

  • Sanrio, Vandor enter licensing deal for Hello Kitty products

    NEW YORK — A new line of Hello Kitty household products are arriving this summer, thanks to a new licensing agreement inked by Sanrio and Vandor.

    Through the deal, which is effective immediately, Vandor will produce the collection, which includes such items as eco-friendly shopper totes, as well as ceramic and travel mugs that feature Hello Kitty, a Sanrio brand. The collection will range in price from $2.49 to $9.99.

  • Daniel Myers to exit P&G for EVP role at Kraft

    NORTHFIELD, Ill. — A Procter & Gamble executive will join Kraft Foods in September as its EVP supply chain, Kraft announced Thursday.

    Daniel Myers — who succeeds David Brearton, now EVP and CFO of Kraft — most recently served as P&G's VP product supply, leading the supply chain function for the company's global hair care business, as well as coordination responsibilities for P&G's beauty and grooming business, including manufacturing operations that supported sales in more than 170 countries.

  • Buddy Fruits introduces pure fruit bites

    CORAL GABLES, Fla. — A new line of pure fruit snacks has made its debut.

    Buddy Fruits said that one package of its pure fruit bites is equivalent to one full serving of fruit and is 95 calories. Buddy Fruits' pure fruit bites are available in apple, orange, raspberry and pomegranate/acai.

    Buddy Fruits products are available at retailers nationwide, including Walmart, Supervalu, H-E-B and King Kullen.

  • CamelBak introduces Better Bottle Insulated

    PETALUMA, Calif. — CamelBak has introduced new reusable bottles that are made of Tritan plastic.

    CamelBak's Better Bottle Insulated are designed to keep liquids cool more than twice as long as traditional plastic bottles and reduce condensation with the use of Tritan plastic, CamelBak said. Additionally, the bottles feature a spill-proof Big Bite valve, which provides no-tip sipping and can be flipped shut for easy storage and transport.

  • Little Hug Fruit Barrels embraces new flavors, packaging

    PITTSBURGH — American Beverage has reformulated its Little Hug Fruit Barrels beverage line for kids.

    The drinks now tout just 10 calories and have been fortified with vitamins B and E. Additionally, Little Hug Fruit Barrels' packaging has been updated to feature bright colors and a new brand logo.

  • Fiber One unveils 80-calorie cereal

    MINNEAPOLIS — Fiber One is adding a breakfast choice to its lineup of products.

    New Fiber One 80 Calories cereal is a honey-flavored cereal that provides 10 g of fiber per serving, in addition to calcium, iron, B vitamins, folic acid and zinc, according to the company.
