Huggaroo wows buyers at ECRM’s Self Care session
Huggaroo won the Drug Store News Buyers’ Choice Award for its Gem Warm & Cold Eye Compress with Lavender during ECRM’s Self Care session held earlier this month.
The product was selected from dozens of entries submitted by participating suppliers. Buyers were able to evaluate each entry and cast their votes based on product packaging and innovation via the Drug Store News-branded Buyers Choice Awards section of the ECRM Connect platform.

“The pandemic has accelerated the trend toward self-care dramatically as consumers sought out products to use at home,” said Craig Chmielowicz, senior vice president of health and beauty care for ECRM said. “This led to a great deal of innovation in the segment, and our Buyers Choice Award winner is a great example of this.”
Huggaroo develops microwavable heating pads designed to reduce stress, promote relaxation and soothe achy muscles. The pads are available in a variety of neck and shoulder wraps, eye masks or headache wraps. Users heat Huggaroo for two minutes in the microwave to experience deep heat for pain relief. The products have cords and no stiff plastic pads, just soft, comfortable material filled with clay beads for weighted comfort. The patented Huggaroo Gem Warm & Cold Eye Compress with Lavender is microwavable for soothing heat, weighted for deep pressure therapy, reversible with a cozy side and a silky side, and filled with lavender for aromatherapy. It also includes a gel pack insert that can be kept in the freezer for relief of puffy eyes or headaches.
