  • Wockhardt gets green light for three products

    MUMBAI, India — Wockhardt has launched three new drugs in the United States over the last three weeks, the Indian generic drug maker said.

    Wockhardt announced the Food and Drug Administration's approval and the launch of the company's antibacterial drug levofloxacin, a generic version of Johnson & Johnson’s Levaquin, in the 250-mg, 500-mg and 750-mg strengths.

  • ProStrakan receives FDA approval to market Rectiv

    GALASHIELS, Scotland, and BEDMINSTER, N.J. — ProStrakan has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to market an ointment designed to treat moderate to severe pain associated with chronic anal fissures.

    The drug maker, which is a subsidiary of Kyowa Hakko Kirin, said that it received regulatory approval for Rectiv (nitroglycerin) ointment 0.4%. Rectiv currently is the only FDA-approved prescription product for patients with this condition. ProStrakan expects Rectiv to be available in the United States in first quarter 2012.

  • Dole gets peachy with latest fruit crisp

    WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Dole is expanding its line of fruit crisps with a new peach flavor.

    The brand, which already boasts apple cinnamon and apple pear flavors, said the fruit crisps are packaged in portion-controlled cups and feature all-natural, bite-size pieces of Dole fruit and come with a whole-grain oat topping.

    Dole peach fruit crisps, as well as apple cinnamon and apple pear fruit crisps, are available nationwide in the canned fruit aisle at major food, drug and mass retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $2.19.

  • Dr. Reddy's brings generic Levaquin to market

    HYDERABAD, India — Generic drug maker Dr. Reddy’s Labs has launched its version of a popular antibiotic.

    The company said its levofloxacin tablets in the 250-mg, 500-mg and 750-mg strengths have entered the market, following the Food and Drug Administration's approval of Dr. Reddy's abbreviated new drug application. Dr. Reddy's levofloxacin tablets in the 250-mg and 500-mg strengths are available in 50-count bottles, while the 750-mg strength bottle is available in 30-count bottles.

  • Don Francisco's gourmet coffee cans get makeover

    LOS ANGELES — Don Francisco's gourmet coffee cans are getting a new look.

    Consumers will find that the cans will sport a redesigned look, as well as the Don Francisco's family seal, which dates back at least 130 years. The introduction of the cans is homage to Don Francisco's heritage and a testament to a deep commitment to innovation and the highest-quality standards, the company said.

    Don Francisco's gourmet coffee is available in 11 varieties of 12-oz. cans for $6.49.

  • Mr. Bubble lathers up consumers with new products

    CHASKA, Minn. — Mr. Bubble, which celebrates its 50th birthday this year, has announced the launch of two new products: Mr. Bubble Fizzy Bubble Bomb and the Mr. Bubble Foam Soap twin pack.

    Shaped like the Mr. Bubble character, the original Bubble- or Bubbleberry-scent Bath Bombs add bubbles and color to bath water. They are available in pink and blue. The mixed shelf display holds 12 fizzy Bubble Bombs. They have a suggested retail price of $1.49 each.

  • Genesis Today introduces GenEssentials Greens

    AUSTIN, Texas — Genesis Today on Tuesday launched its GenEssentials Greens, a concentrated vegan supplement with more than 75 plant-based ingredients.

    According to the company, one serving of GenEssentials Greens delivers the phytonutrients of up to five servings of dark leafy green vegetables and 173 other nutrients.   • Pebbles gets a 'boulder' treatment

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Post Foods has expanded its Pebbles cereal lineup with a limited-edition flavor.

    New Pebbles Boulders Stone Age caramel apple now is available on store shelves nationwide. Each serving of the new cereal, which features caramel-flavored boulders and caramel-flavored dinosaur bones, contains 110 calories and 16 g of whole grains, while providing 10 essential vitamins and minerals, Post said.

    Post said it will continue to introduce more delicious limited-edition Boulders flavors throughout the year.
