  • Boogie Wipes introduces Saline Soothers line for adults

    BEAVERTON, Ore. — Little Busy Bodies has introduced its latest Boogie Wipes product line that caters to adults' dry, chapped noses.

    Saline Soothers are designed to provide adults with a more comfortable alternative to dry tissues, the company said. Little Busy Bodies entered the mucus management market in 2007 with Boogie Wipes, designed just for kids.

  • Physicians Formula to launch exclusive line at Walmart

    AZUSA, Calif. — Physicians Formula confirmed that its newly developed skin care line will be carried exclusively in about 2,500 Walmart stores this summer.

    The company said that the cosmeceutical skin care line, which will contain 14 SKUs, will begin shipping to Walmart this month and officially will hit store shelves in August. Physicians Formula also said the line potentially could be offered to other retailers by 2012. The line includes three regimens focused on the most common skin concerns, including aging, moisture balance and sensitivity and redness.

  • Nipro, NeuroMetrix collaborate to market NC-stat DPNCheck

    WALTHAM, Mass. — Nipro Diagnostics and NeuroMetrix have teamed up to market a point-of-care test that is designed to evaluate such systemic neuropathies as diabetic peripheral neuropathy.

    Nipro and NeuroMetrix said the NC-stat DPNCheck test, developed by NeuroMetrix, could offer a cost-effective approach to detecting and monitoring DPN, which affects more than half of people with diabetes and could lead to such conditions as foot ulcers and limb amputation.

    The companies currently are evaluating opportunities for the NC-stat DPNCheck in retail medical clinics.

  • Rockin' Green's laundry detergent products to tout new scent, packaging

    SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Rockin' Green has revamped its laundry detergent products inside and out.

    The company said that its Soft, Classic and Hard Rock formulas will feature a new scent and packaging. The company said it is replacing one of its original scents, called Plain Green Tea's, with a scent called Earth, Wind and Orchids. What's more, the standard packaging for the laundry detergents have been redesigned with a new look and also will use less material.

  • Coty Beauty unveils Beyonce Pulse fragrance

    NEW YORK — Coty Beauty has announced the launch of the newest scent in the Beyonce Parfums portfolio, Beyonce Pulse, which will debut in September.

    Pulse will join the Heat and Heat Rush collections. The launch of Pulse will be supported with global integrated sales and marketing activity, including a print and TV ad campaign starring Beyonce, to be featured in more than 60 countries. In addition, social media and online programs will speak to Beyonce's global fan base via e-commerce, Twitter and Facebook. Pulse TV ads will begin airing in August.

  • Consmr offers new kind of product review website

    NEW YORK — Review websites have become an essential tool for the discriminating consumer, so it's only natural that one would crop up for consumer goods.

    Consmr provides ratings for product categories ranging from consumables and personal care to hair care and household items, allowing users to give products between one and five stars. Advertising Age described it as a consumer product version of restaurant review site Yelp.

  • FDA approves Nulojix

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug for preventing organ rejection in kidney transplant patients, the agency said Wednesday.

    The FDA approved Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Nulojix (belatacept), for preventing acute rejection in adult patients. The drug is approved for use with other immune system-suppressing drugs, specifically Novartis’ Simulect (basiliximab), Genentech’s CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil) and corticosteroids.

  • Triple Double Oreo gets a home on store shelves

    EAST HANOVER, N.J. — First came the Double Stuf; now Nabisco is bringing "milk's favorite cookie" to a whole new level.

    The latest Oreo innovation, called the Oreo Triple Double, is a sandwich cookie that features three pieces of chocolate wafers that are separated by chocolate and vanilla cream. Oreo Triple Double cookies are hitting store shelves this summer, the company confirmed.
