  • Sea-Band announces launch of Sea-Band Mama anti-nausea products

    HINCKLEY, England — Sea-Band recently expanded its line of drug-free nausea products with the introduction of Sea-Band Mama. The niche targeted by the new product is pregnant women experiencing morning sickness. 

    The new Sea-Band Mama products include Sea-Band Mama Acupressure Wristbands which use the technique of acupressure to trigger the P6 pressure point, which in turn causes the nervous system to release natural chemicals that quell nausea. And there also is Sea-Band Mama Ginger Lozenges with folic acid.

  • Perrigo receives FDA approval for generic Astepro

    DUBLIN — Perrigo on Monday announced that it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray (0.15%), a generic version of Astepro.

    The prescription medicine is indicated for people ages 12 years and older and is used to treat nasal symptoms brought on by seasonal allergies or environmental irritants. Annual sales for the drug were approximately $97 million, according to Symphony Health Solutions

  • Bayer's Kogenate FS receives FDA approval

    WHIPPANY, N.J. — Bayer HealthCare on Monday announced that the Food and Drug Administration approved the company's new indication for Bayer's Kogenate FS antihemophilic factor VIII (recombinant) for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in adults with hemophilia A.

  • Ajanta Pharma launches risperidone tablets

    BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Ajanta Pharma USA on Friday announced the launch of risperidone tablets (0.25-mg, 0.5-mg, 1-mg, 2-mg, 3-mg and 4-mg), the generic version of Risperdal. The drug is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

    Sales of branded and generic risperidone totalled approximately $147 million for the 12 months ending March 2014, according to IMS Health.

  • Enaltus announces three additions to its ScarAway line

    SUWANEE, Ga. — Enaltus recently announced three new additions to its line of ScarAway scar removal products. 

    First is ScarAway Scar Repair Gel, featuring patented Kelo-cote technology, a transparent, self-drying 100%-silicone gel designed to improve the appearance of scars and prevent abnormal and excessive scar formation.     MADISON, Wis. — Propeller Health, the FDA-cleared digital health solution for chronic respiratory disease, earlier this week announced that the Food and Drug Administration granted 510(k) clearance to market its latest generation of the Propeller platform, including a new sensor.

  • FDA approves Zontivity tabs

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved Zontivity (vorapaxar) tablets, an anti-platelet agent that's designed to decrease the tendency of platelets to clump together to form a blood clot. Zontivity is the first in a new class of drugs called a protease-activated receptor-1 (PAR-1) antagonist, the agency said.

  • Telehealth provider Teladoc to accelerate growth with AmeriDoc acquisition

    DALLAS — Teladoc, a telehealth provider with more than 7.5 million members, has announced the acquisition of AmeriDoc, a telehealth company founded in 2007.

    Teladoc stated that the acquisition supports its strategy for growth into new and fast-growing market segments.
