    SHENZEN, China — Paick, a mobile digital device brand, on Monday announced the launch of Sleek, a thin, portable power bank. Sleek features a glossy smartphone shape with an attached micro USB/USB cable/handle to charge devices.

    RALEIGH, N.C. — Salix Pharmaceuticals last week announced that the Food and Drug Administration has accepted for filing a new drug application for Budesonide 2 mg Rectal Foam for the induction of remission in patients with active mild to moderate distal ulcerative colitis extending up to 40 cm from the anal verge.

    The FDA has issued an action date of Sept. 15, 2014 under the Prescription Drug User Fee Act.

  • Yasso expands flavor offerings

    BOSTON — Yasso, a frozen Greek yogurt brand, announced the introduction of five new flavors to its line of products. Peanut Butter Cup, Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Fudge, Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Sea Salt Caramel will join Yasso's six existing flavors. Yasso's line is available at more than 14,000 grocery stores across the nation.

  • Script Relief launches improved website

    NEW YORK — Script Relief launched a new and improved HelpRx website that aims to provide a user-friendly experience and additional resources to people searching for prescription drug discounts, as well as information about medications.

    Consumers can use the Rx Search tool on the website to find prescription drug coupouns, which can be printed or sent to a user's email address or mobile phone. The coupons can be presented at more than 50,000 pharmacies across the nation, which savings reaching up to 75% off the prescription's retail price, the company said.

    WASHINGTON — HIT policy needs to focus on specific goals for improving patient medication adherence in order to realize the goals of improving patient health and achieving cost savings in the U.S. healthcare system, according to an expert panel convened today by the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation and Prescriptions for a Healthy America.

    In particular, the panel said the two highest priorities for HIT should be providing electronic access to accurate mediation lists and complete drug formulary information for prescribing physicians.
