    NEW YORK — Em michelle phan, a start-up brand from the L’Oréal Luxe group, marks the first makeup line co-created by a community of beauty lovers and YouTube beauty vlogger Michelle Phan.

    The line launched this month and is available at emcosmetics.com.  

  • Insight Pharmaceuticals launches Nix Complete Lice Elimination Kit

    TRABUCO CANYON, Calif. — Insight Pharmaceuticals recently introduced the Nix Complete Lice Elimination Kit, which contains everything parents need to combat lice in three easy steps.

    Nix’s active ingredient — permethrin — is maximum strength and clinically proven to be the most effective at killing head lice, the company stated. In addition, Nix’s Crème Rinse is the most-recommended treatment by the Academy of Pediatrics, Insight noted.

  • FDA approves Par's generic bupropion hydrochloride extended-release tablets

    WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic drug for depression made by Par Pharmaceutical Cos., the drug maker said Tuesday.

    Par announced the approval of bupropion hydrochloride extended-release tablets in the 300-mg strength. The drug is a generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's Wellbutrin XL and is used to treat major depressive disorder. The company already markets the generic drug in the 150-mg strength.

  • Carex launches bathroom safety mat featuring foot scrubbers and pumice stone

    NORWELL, Mass. — Carex Health Brands last week launched a new bathroom mat to its lineup of bathroom safety products.

    The Carex Deluxe Bath Mat (B222-00) provides a slip-resistant surface for bathing or showering with hundreds of suction cups that anchor the bath mat to the bottom of the tub.

    LONDON — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a vaccine made by GlaxoSmithKline that protects against four strains of the flu, the drug maker said.

  • FDA approves Supernus epilepsy drug

    ROCKVILLE, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new epilepsy drug made by Supernus Pharmaceuticals, the company said Monday.

    Supernus announced the approval of Trokendi XR, a once-daily, extended-release formulation of the drug topiramate. As part of the approval, the FDA granted Supernus a waiver for some of the requirements for studies of the drug in children and a deferral for submission of other post-marketing data due in 2019, followed by clinical assessments in 2025.

  • Allscripts introduces Population Health Analytics

    CHICAGO — Electronic health record provider Allscripts has introduced a new point-of-care system that aims to reduce chronic disease management costs and reduce hospital readmissions, the company said Monday.

    Allscripts said it would demonstrate the Population Health Analytics system at the Allscripts Client Experience, which takes place between Wednesday and Friday in Chicago.
