  • FDA to review experimental opioid drug

    BEDMINSTER, N.J. — The Food and Drug Administration will decide in late August whether to approve an experimental opioid painkiller made by QRxPharma, the drug maker said Thursday.

    Australia-based QRxPharma is seeking approval for Moxduo (morphine and oxycodone), and the FDA plans to decide whether to approve the drug on Aug. 26.

  • PDX, CoverMyMeds partner on prior authorizations

    COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pharmacy-automation system maker PDX has made a deal with CoverMyMeds to help pharmacies using PDX's system to expedite the submission of prior-authorization forms to health insurance plans, PDX said.

    The service, which will be offered at no cost to pharmacies, is meant to decrease the administrative hassles of prior authorizations, improve turnaround time and help to stop prescription abandonment.

    NEW YORK — Hair care brand TRESemmé has expanded its portfolio with the new Platinum Strength and Keratin Smooth collections.

    The new TRESemmé Platinum Strength Collection is a line of hair care products developed to fortify and strengthen hair, repairing up to two years of damage in five uses, the company stated. The collection includes Platinum Strength Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner, Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment and Strengthening Heat Protect Spray.

  • New 'Thomas & Friends' DVD rolls into Walmart stores

     NEW YORK — A new adventure from Thomas the Tank Engine and will be available exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide April 9, 2013.

    The new DVD, Thomas & Friends: Railway Mischief, features five brand new episodes and a bonus, collectible “Calling All Engines” poster. There are also bonus features including a hide and seek game, a music video and a "Guess Who?" puzzle. 

    The DVD will be sold for a suggested retail price of $14.98.
