  • SoloHealth brings together veteran executive team in preparation for national kiosk launch

     ATLANTA — SoloHealth on Wednesday named Tim Kiss to serve as VP marketing — a new position at SoloHealth — as the company prepares for its nationwide rollout of the SoloHealth Station consumer kiosk this fall. SoloHealth also named Dan Bonert to VP advertising sales, promoted Eric Hoell to VP operations and promoted Stephen Kendig to EVP and chief commercial officer.

  • Zulka premieres new packaging

    LOS ANGELES — Zulka pure cane sugar has debuted a new look.

    The company said its all-natural and unrefined granulated "morena" sugar now is packaged in a clear bag that features an updated, modernized logo and a new equivalency icon that illustrates how Zulka is a perfect cup-for-cup replacement for refined white sugar.

  • Anchor Bay Entertainment launches 'Chilly Christmas' on DVD

    BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Anchor Bay Entertainment is slated to debut a new holiday film on DVD.

    "Chilly Christmas," starring C. Thomas Howell, Brooke Langton and Tom Arnold, is a holiday adventure that follows the story of a boy named Bobby, his detective father and their rambunctious dog Chilly, who are preparing to move from Sunshine Beach, Calif., to New York. As they prepare for their big move, a dog-napper and his crew come to town, and it is up to Bobby, his father and Chilly to stop them.

  • Sagent launches drug to prevent chemotherapy-induced vomiting

     SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Sagent Pharmaceuticals has launched a drug used to treat complications related to chemotherapy, the drug maker said.

    The Schaumburg, Ill.-based company announced the launch of ondansetron injection, used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with emetogenic cancer chemotherapy and also to prevent nausea and vomiting that follows surgery.

    Various versions of the drug had sales of $49 million during the 12-month period that ended in June, according to IMS Health.

  • Dr. Reddy's launches generic hypertension pill

    HYDERABAD, India — Generic drug maker Dr. Reddy's Labs has launched a generic drug for treating high blood pressure, the company said.

    Dr. Reddy's announced the launch of metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets in the 25-mg, 50-mg, 100-mg and 200-mg strengths. The drug will be available in bottle counts of 100 and 500.

    The drug is a generic version of AstraZeneca's Toprol-XL, branded and generic versions of which had sales of about $1.13 billion during the 12-month period that ended in June, according to IMS Health.

  • 'Crooked Arrows' comes home on Blu-ray, DVD

    LOS ANGELES — 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is bringing a new sports film to Blu-ray and DVD.

    "Crooked Arrows" stars Brandon Routh, Gil Birmingham and Crystal Allen. The film centers on Coach Joe Logan (Routh), who reluctantly leads a Native American high school team on their unlikely journey to the state lacrosse championship game against their prep school rivals. Along the way, Joe and the team rediscover their connection to the spiritual traditions of the ancient sport of lacrosse.

  • Upsher-Smith introduces Nexa Plus prenatal vitamins

     MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Drug maker Upsher-Smith Labs has introduced a new product to its prenatal vitamin line, the company said Tuesday.

    The drug maker announced the launch of Nexa Plus capsules, a once-daily, prescription vitamin that contains 350 mg of life's DHA, a plant-based and fish-free omega-3 fatty acid; 1.25 mg of folic acid; and 250 mcg of the B vitamin biotin.

  • Sartori introduces peppermint BellaVitano cheese

    PLYMOUTH, Wis. — Sartori has introduced a limited-edition cheese.

    New peppermint BellaVitano cheese is a unique artisan cheese that combines BellaVitano Gold with crushed peppermint candy, giving the cheese both a sweetness and bright pink hue to the creamy, crumbly texture. As part of the launch, a portion of all the proceeds of this product will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness, Sartori said.
