Oreo and Lucasfilm have come together to release special edition Star Wars cookies.
Available in two iterations of the Star Wars Oreo Cookie Packs, each is wrapped in identical packaging but contains a single color crème that symbolizes either the dark side or light side of the Force that won’t be known until it is opened.
“Pairing two tremendously loved communities to launch the Star Wars Oreo Cookie Packs has been an amazing experience,” said Nicole Fischer, senior brand manager, Oreo, U.S. “We are continuing to make strides to cement our brand's cultural relevance via strategic collaborations. We hope fans see how much we loved bringing their favorite stories to life, and that they have fun discovering the details we’ve included at every touchpoint.”

When the packs are opened, consumers will find either dark side or light side cookies with red or blue crème infused with “kyber” sugar crystals inspired by the crystals found in a Lightsaber.
In addition, each cookie also has an embossment of corresponding dark side and light side characters including Darth Vader, Darth Maul and a stormtrooper for the dark side pack, and Luke Skywalker, Yoda and Princess Leia for the light side pack.
Lastly, each Star Wars Oreo Cookie Pack features original character artwork hand-painted by illustrator Greg Hildebrandt.
The Star Wars Oreo Cookie Packs will be available for purchase online beginning May 30 and will roll out to retailers nationwide beginning June 10.
