NOTTINGHAM, England — Boots UK announced Wednesday that it has partnered with IRI to develop and operate a range of world-class customer insight tools for its product brands.

Camber Pharmaceuticals on Monday awarded Walgreens Boots Alliance in recognition of its status as the No. 1 trading partner for 2016-2017. SAN DIEGO — The California Product Stewardship Council this week presented Walgreens with the 2017 Infinity Arrow Award for Service and Take Back in recognition of the company’s Safe Medication Disposal program. The disposal program, launched last year, is the first ongoing national effort of its kind by a retailer to combat the national drug abuse crisis, the company said.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens Boots Alliance and Rite Aid on Wednesday filed notice with the Securities and Exchange Commission that the companies would be withdrawing its initial deal to acquire 2,186 Rite Aid stores, and will refile that agreement by Friday, August 18.

That will reset the clock on the waiting period under the HSR Act with to Sept. 18, 2017, unless otherwise extended or terminated.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Tuesday announced the launch of its Center for Health & Wellbeing Research, a website that features more than 50 Walgreens outcomes studies completed over the past six years. Areas of research include access to care and patient experience, adherence and clinical outcomes, digital health and member engagement, health care costs, HIV and specialty pharmacy, vaccinations and more.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens Boots Alliance has had a busy week.

As a minority investor, the company on Wednesday announced that it had formed a new company with KKR, through which the two acquired institutional pharmacy company PharMerica. The all-cash transaction is valued at roughly $1.4 billion and will make PharMerica a private company.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — To help reduce the risk of injury from slips and falls, and to educate seniors in its communities, Walgreens will offer injury prevention tips and advice when it hosts a Senior Day at its stores nationwide on Aug. 1.

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Tuesday announced the relocation of its Tempe pharmacy operations support center.  The current facility in Tempe will remain open as a pharmacy mail services support facility to allow for future growth.
