ST. LOUIS - Express Scripts on Wednesday announced the launch of its Diabetes Care Value Program, the industry's most comprehensive approach to improve pharmacy care while controlling plan costs for people with diabetes.

DEERFIELD, Ill. – Walgreens and PBM Prime Therapeutics on Monday introduced a new model that aligns pharmacy, PBM and health plans to coordinate patient care, improve health outcomes and deliver cost of care opportunities. DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Walgreens Boots Alliance announced Thursday it has exercised warrants to purchase 22.7 million AmerisourceBergen common shares, representing a stake of 23.9%.

Walgreens Boots Alliance then exercised these warrants and purchased 22,696,912 shares of AmerisourceBergen common stock for an aggregate payment of approximately $1.19 billion. The warrants were originally scheduled to be exercisable in March 2017. The transaction was funded using existing cash on hand.

DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens on Wednesday added its safe medication disposal kiosk program to its locations in Oregon with the installation of drug take-back kiosks at six Walgreens drug stores across the state. The launch is part of Walgreens effort, announced in February, to install safe medication disposal kiosks at more than 500 of its drugstores around the country.
