Zotos Professional released its first microbiome-friendly certified product line by relaunching a new kind of scalp formulation from Biotera.

The brand worked with Dr. Kristin Neumann to test if the products respect the scalp microbiota, the company said.

“MyMicrobiome is an independent control body that rigorously tests products for the impact on the skin’s and scalp’s microbiome” Neumann said. “The ‘microbiome-friendly certification’ facilitates the decision of consumers when looking for skin and microbiome-friendly products.”

In addition, the brand also worked with Penny James, a board-certified trichologist, IAT and hairstylist who helped find the right balance of scalp microbiota in the products, the company said.

“Maintaining the scalp microbiome will reduce itching, inflammation, and hair cycle interruption,” James said. “The new Biotera formulas, enhanced with coconut oil, help to maintain a healthy scalp and leave hair feeling nourished and moisturized.”
