  • Soma Beverage's Metromint line gets a new flavor

    SAN FRANCISCO Soma Beverage is expanding its Metromint line of waters with a new flavor.

    New Goodberrymint premium water is an all-natural refreshing blend of 100% real mint and mixed berries combined with purified water. The water features a rich blend of the essence of acai, blueberries, blackberries, pomegranates and raspberries.

    In addition to Goodberrymint, Metromint is available in six delicious 16.9-oz. varieties. The premium waters are sold at traditional, natural and specialty stores nationwide, such as Whole Foods Market, Safeway and Kroger.

  • Fresh Wave maker sponsors Chicago Bears

    BARRINGTON, Ill. OMI Industries, the manufacturer of odor abatement solutions, announced its sponsorship of the 2010-2011 Chicago Bears football season.

    OMI Industries said its Fresh Wave brand will be part of an integrated marketing strategy that unites the football team with Fresh Wave. Everything from the Chicago Bears' locker rooms to the suites at Soldier Field will be outfitted with the eco-friendly Fresh Wave odor-eliminating solutions, OMI Industries said.

  • Marvel gets Silly

    TOLEDO, Ohio —Marvel superheroes are the latest licensed Silly Bandz to hit store shelves. BCP Imports, maker of the must-have accessory for the elementary school set, is shipping a 24-band Marvel Avengers pack to retailers just in time for back-to-school.

    The new Marvel Silly Bandz collection includes Iron Man, Spiderman, Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Thor and Wolverine, and will retail for $4.95. Counter displays and pop-up boxes are available for merchandising.

  • Bear-ing it all

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Kellogg’s Bear Naked brand, which includes premium granola, trail mix and granola bars, has entered the cookie category. The company has added Pure & Natural soft-baked granola cookies to its lineup of products.

    Available in two flavors—double chocolate and fruit and nut—the cookies are minimally processed and made without preservatives, artificial flavors and trans fats. The cookies offer 10 g of whole grains with no cholesterol, hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup.
