  • Nutra Bars for dogs enter market

    LOS ANGELES — All American Pet Co. has introduced a new line of 27% meat-first protein/energy bars just for dogs.

    Nutra Bars, which come in a 4-oz. variety, offer the kilo-calories of a cup of super-premium dry dog food, providing the nutritive value of a complete meal, All American Pet Co. said.

    "The convenience and nutritive value of food bars has become a part of our daily lives. Extending the convenience and nutritional value of human food bars to dogs is simply an extension of humanizing our pets," AAPT CEO Barry Schwartz said.

    DETROIT — Avanti Press recently launched 28 new greeting card designs at the 2012 National Stationery Show in New York.

    Combining its Avanti photographic humor brand with its illustrated companion, A*Press, the new cards "satisfy a wide spectrum of sending needs," Avanti's VP business development Marc Trobman said. Avanti Press has rolled out 18 fun-flavored cards celebrating the "grills, thrills and spills of summer," while nine new cards debuted under the A*Press brand for the birthday, anniversary and support categories.

    Jelly Belly pie candy dishes are made of ceramic and have a classic lattice-patterned crust lid with a Jelly Belly jelly bean "fruit-filling"” peeking out from under it. Each Jelly Belly pie candy dish comes with a 2-oz. starter bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans in the dish's corresponding flavor.     Named after "Dirty Jobs," My Dirty Jobs cleaning products include items designed for laundry, kitchen, carpet and bathroom use.     PURCHASE, N.Y. — Sierra Mist Natural has rolled out a new flavor in time for summer.

    Similar to the trademark flavor, Strawberry Kiwi Splash is made with real sugar and and is free of artificial additives or preservatives.

    As part of the launch, the brand has kicked off a Facebook contest through which five families will win a vacation to the Grand Canyon. The contest ends July 31.

  • Former EPA executive joins P&G's U.S. sustainability expert advisory panel

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has announced that former EPA assistant administrator Steve Owens is the newest member of the company's U.S. sustainability expert advisory panel.

    Owens, who joined his first SEAP meeting earlier this month in Cincinnati, brings a strong background in environmental, safety and health issues to the panel, P&G said.
