  • Drank introduces Island Time flavor

    HOUSTON — Relaxation beverage brand Drank is set to roll out a new tropical blend.

    The new Island Time relaxation beverage was created to help consumers stay calm and relax as the world may come to an end in 2012, Innovative Beverage Group Holdings CEO Peter Bianchi said.

    "Consumers who want adventure and relaxation can still enjoy an active lifestyle while unwinding from their busy schedules. Island Time is a perfect new extension of the Drank family of products," Bianchi said.

  • Sun Products taps Al Drewes as finance chief

    WILTON, Conn. — The SVP and CFO of Pepsi Bottling Group is heading to Sun Products.

    Sun Products, known for its laundry detergent, fabric softeners and other household products, announced that Al Drewes will join the company as EVP and CFO. In his role, Drewes will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning and accounting, tax, audit, treasury as well as IT, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions for the company.

    PLANO, Texas — Dr Pepper is embracing its originality in flavor and as a brand with the debut of its latest advertising campaign.

    The brand launched its “Always One of a Kind” campaign, which includes a new commercial that celebrates people's individuality by having fans show off their own original expressions on t-shirts that describe what makes them unique. The commercial also features a cover of “I’ve Gotta Be Me,” which is performed by singer/songwriter and OneRepublic front man Ryan Tedder.

    AYER, Mass. — Vitasoy-USA announced that it has promoted one of its marketing executives.

    Susan Rolnick now will serve as VP sales and marketing, the tofu and Asian pasta maker said. Prior to joining the company in 2009, Rolnick served as director of marketing for ConAgra's Lightlife division.

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy has expanded its Eatwell and Goodness lines with more than 60 new products.

    The Eatwell line, which now will include such items as breakfast cereals, whole grain pasta and turkey meatloaf, was launched in 2010 to offer customers seeking nutritionally balanced food without compromising taste. The Goodness line, which now includes such items as sunflower kernels multi-pack, chicken risotto and vanilla animal crackers, are products that provide wholesome options for fun meals and snacks for children, Fresh & Easy said.

  • Hansen Natural unveils corporate name

    CORONA, Calif. — The company behind Hansen's natural sodas and Monster energy drinks has a new corporate name.

    With approval from its stockholders, Hansen Natural announced it has changed its name to Monster Beverage Corp. and will begin trading under a new stock ticker symbol, "MNST," effective Monday.

    In addition to its Hansen's and Monster brands, the company also owns Junior Juice, Blue Sky, Peace Tea, energy shots brand Worx Energy, vitamin-enhanced water brand Vidration, Hubert's lemonades and Pre probiotic drinks.
