  • Coca-Cola Foundation donates funds to hunger relief organizations in Georgia

    ATLANTA — The charitable arm of Coca-Cola has donated $60,000 to three Atlanta-based organizations that aim to reduce hunger.

    The Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Area Command and Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless were each awarded $20,000 from the Coca-Cola Foundation. The donations are part of the foundation's “Donations in Lieu of Decorations Initiative,” which has awarded more than $500,000 to 45 organizations since 1992.

    GLENVIEW, Ill. — So far two retailers — Supervalu and Walmart — have pulled lots of Emfamil Premium Newborn powdered formula before any recall has been issued after learning of an infant's death this past weekend, according to published reports.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. — In an effort to focus on its digital growth initiatives and accelerate its transformation to a digital company, Eastman Kodak said it is selling its Eastman Gelatine business to Rousselot, which is part of the Vion Food Group.

  • Report: Yoplait boosts portfolio with lactose-free line

    MINNEAPOLIS — A General Mills yogurt brand is set to launch a new line of products, according to published reports.

    Yoplait is set to launch its lactose-free line of yogurt, which is said to contain 50% the daily value of calcium in every cup, 99% fat free and includes vitamins A and D, according to reports.

    Yoplait lactose free will be available in four varieties in January 2012.

  • Heineken names SVP corporate relations

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Heineken has announced the appointment of Stacey Tank as SVP corporate relations. She will begin her role on Jan. 3, 2012.

    Tank joins Heineken USA from General Electric, where she most recently led corporate relations for “Healthymagination” — GE’s $6 billion commitment to bringing better health to more people. Additionally she led the launch of a $1 billion global cancer campaign in September 2011, which included a $100 million open innovation challenge around breast cancer diagnostics.

  • Garlic Jim's launches frozen gluten-free pizza line

    NEW YORK — A gourmet pizza chain is bringing its gluten-free pizza line to the frozen food aisle of stores nationwide.

    Garlic Jim’s, a restaurant chain based in Washington, initially began rolling out its 12-in. frozen pizzas in supermarkets in the Puget Sound, Wash., area this spring.

    Garlic Jim's frozen gluten-free pizza is available in the following varieties: "The King of Pizza Toppings" pepperoni pizza, gourmet garlic pizza, "Don't Have a Cow Literally" veggie pizza and "The Big Cheese" three-cheese pizza.
