  • Kronos acquires Pita King bread manufacturer

    GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. — Kronos is expanding its bread products line with its acquisition of Pita King's commercial baking assets.

    The acquisition marks Kronos' foray into flatbread production. The company, which currently markets such items as Mediterranean Chef gyro family meal kit and Kronos Fillo Classics, now will market Pita King's authentic Middle Eastern pocket breads in a variety of sizes and formulations, including white and whole wheat.

  • Jari Love debuts new 'Get Ripped!' fitness workout series DVD

    CALGARY, Canada — A new fitness DVD featuring Jari Love's "Get Ripped!" workout series has made its debut.

    "Get Ripped! Revved to the Max" is an 80-minute fitness DVD that gives users the option to do two 30-minute workout segments of linked, fast-paced sets of compounded exercises or combine them into a 60-minute set.

  • Mars Chocolate kicks off campaigns for Twix, Snickers

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate is putting emphasis on its Twix and Snickers candies with two respective campaigns.

    Twix's Pause Like You Mean It campaign will include the "Pick Your Pause" on-pack promotion, where consumers instantly can win more than 250,000, as well as the chance to win a $50,000 grand-prize sweepstakes called “The Perfect Pause.” The campaign also will be supported through digital promotion on music and gaming websites and social media outreach.

  • Chips Ahoy! takes the fudge route

    EAST HANOVER, N.J. — Chips Ahoy! is getting a chocolate makeover.

    The brand has introduced its fudge-filled chocolate chip cookies called Chewy Gooey that will be available in two varieties. The Chewy Gooey Chocofudge variety features a soft chocolate chip cookie made with real chocolate chips filled with a layer of smooth and creamy fudge, while the Chewy Gooey Megafudge variety is a soft, brownie-like chocolate chip cookie with real white chocolate chips and filled with a layer of smooth and creamy fudge.

    PLANO, Texas — 7UP is sporting two nostalgic looks designed by “The Celebrity Apprentice” finalists Marlee Matlin and John Rich.

    New 7UP Retro celebrates the brand's heritage by donning two designs similar to past looks last seen in the 1970s and 1980s. An in-store marketing campaign inspired by the decades will support the limited-edition packaging.

    NEW YORK — A chocolatier has brought its gourmet chocolates to the Midwest.

    2 Chicks with Chocolate, which makes such chocolate products as toffee and bark bars, spicy tiles, popcorn and more, will present some of its products next week at the Chicago Sweets and Snacks Expo. The brand recently added its tempranillo ganache and meritage caramel confections to its wine collection line.

  • Nestle Waters kicks off sweepstakes for regional water brands

    STAMFORD, Conn. — Nestle Waters is launching a new sweepstakes for each of its six regional spring water brands.

    By visiting the website for one of the spring water brands — Arrowhead, Deer Park, Ice Mountain, Ozarka, Poland Spring and Zephyrhills — between May 13 and Nov. 30, consumers can enter the new Better Things in Life sweepstakes for the chance to win a grand-prize trip for four to their choice of 1-of-394 U.S. national parks, along with hundreds of other prizes, including tickets to theme parks and local sporting events.

  • Steve's Ice Cream finds delicious home with Taza Chocolate

    NEW YORK — Steve's Ice Cream is taking its flavors to a new level.

    The brand, which originated in Sommerville, Mass., has made its way back home and has partnered with Taza Chocolate, an artisan stone-ground chocolate maker, to create some decadent pairings, including ice cream flavors and hot fudge, all made with Taza's chocolate.
